I bought this rear mount stand to put on my 2013 Diamondback Overdrive Expert 29er since a regular kickstand could not fit. I was a bit worried because of some of the other reviews said this wouldn't work with disc brakes, but figured I'd give it a shot. I was able to put it on my bike even though I had disc brakes and the tubes were irregularly shaped. The bracket cleared my rear disc by about 1/2", which is plenty. I have no problems with my left foot hitting the stand while pedaling either; I wear an 8.5 men's shoe and had about 1" clearance.

The only issue I had was only 3 screws could be used due to the irregularly shaped chain stay (bottom tube). The 3 screws are holding it fine, however.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. I added pictures as well.

Overall, I'm happy with the kickstand. It's doing it's job well. However, there are several minor issues I'll address. First, it was shipped in a bag (inside a large box) with nothing to prevent the parts from banging against each other during shipping. There doesn't seem to be any damage, but it made me a bit concerned. There's a spot where the paint didn't get sprayed on with full thickness, but it's not obvious with a casual glance. The mounting bolts were just barely long enough to secure the kickstand. I would have liked another 1/4" in length, but they worked. There's a large bolt holding the stand and mount sections together. I noticed it was loose after my first ride, so I re-tightened it and it seems ok now. I didn't want to over-tighten it and I also had a bit of grease on the threads to prevent rust (I ride in FL) so I can excuse it for coming loose. Although I don't understand why the kickstand was designed with separate sections - seems like it could have been 1 solid piece. Also, when hitting large bumps it makes a boingggg sound. It doesn't bother me too much, but I suspect a little padding or a better design could alleviate the issue. So apart from some minor issues I'm happy with the kickstand.

This is not clearly described as "non-returnable". It did not fit my Specialized bike with oval aluminum frame at all. I went back to the item on Amazon and searched for where it might say "non-returnable" and still cannot find where this is described. I have used these before on other bikes and they are a bit clumsy, ugly, and tend to loosen all the time. It will work, but not recommended for any real trail or mountain bike due to the way it hangs out the rear begging to be crushed. Easy to install if you luck out and have a matching frame with thin tubes and perhaps NO disc brakes. Amazon needs to do a better job flagging a non-returnable item. I threw mine in the trash with disgust and some swearing.

As noted in the headline, this is one of the best rear frame stands available:
- The motion is super smooth
- It's cheap/affordable
- The entire assembly is aluminum, including the brackets that attach to the frame (bolts are steel)
- Buy the longer one if you have 700-series wheels or larger; you can always cut-down the leg with a hacksaw.
- I did not have to cut it with my 700-series wheels.
- A long/solid stand that you might have to cut (like for 24" or 26" wheels?) is better than an adjustable stand
- This comes with a nice rubber "foot" which makes for better traction and doesn't sink on soft surfaces.

I bought a different stand for my wife's bike, and it just doesn't compare - it comes up short on most of the items listed above.

I recommend using LocTite "blue" on the bolts, just to keep things together over the long-haul (not that I've had a problem).

This kick-stand is fairly easy to mount and is very sturdy. Unlike stands that mount near the chain ring in the middle of the bike that have only one bolt holding them in alignment, this one has three. So it does not move around when brushed with the foot like those middle-mounted stands.

I used to have to be very careful not to bump my stand in one direction into my rear wheel spokes or in the other direction into my pedal. Not a problem with this stand.

It holds my bike upright quite well.

This review is for the Greenfield SKS2-305B 305mm Stablizer Rear Stay-Mount Black aluminum.
I installed one on a 19" frame "Specialized Hardback MTB" with 26" tires, 1998 year model and one on a 13" frame 2010 Trek 3700. I used the provided rubber spacers on both bikes.
Tools required were a regular screwdriver and two hex wrenches. No modifications were required for a well fitted installation on my "Specialized". Mounting this on my Trek however requires two of the four mounting screws to be 1/2 inch longer.
This GF rear stand weighs 260GM, (light). The 305mm length holds both bikes about 10-15 degrees from vertical, and provides a great
Sturdy, good size, steady, footprint. They are, noiseless and out of the way while riding. The rear mount stand allows pushing the bike towards the rear w/o being in the pedals path. These Greenfield 305MM length stands keep both bikes very stable, not vertical but in a position where the bikes will not tip over while allowing both bikes to remain upright while holding 30-40 pounds. I would purchase the 305 mm length for any bike with 26" tires. Also made in USA, I recommend.

This kick stand does not fit my Klein Quantum Z road bike because the chain stay is too large. I want to return the item, but since it's a 3rd party seller, you will have no luck returning this item (You can return but seller will charge you "shipping and handling" and pay return shipping out of your own pocket. This is not acceptable). I expect bikes with thinnest chain stay to be compatible. It doesn't make sense this item has such high reviews. I guess most bikes have thin chain stays.

Fitting it was a bit fiddly, but not surprising as probably not made for the bike I have installed it on. Does a great job, and fitting a centre mounted stand would have not been possible. Excellent build and material.

Nothing to dislike except that my bike did not come from the factory with it already installed. I have no doubt this kickstand will outlast my bike!

It was a VERY close fit to my Rocky Mountain Whistler. only 1/8 inch clearance... BUT it fits, it works GREAT!!! I took the risk know it may not fix, and I won this time :)

UPDATE 2 years. No signs of corrosion, still works great.

I have this on my early 90s hybrid. 24inch frame. Supports the bike with panniers very well.

perfect for the 700 wheel. very stable for a bike with bionx

Works well!

A tight fit on both bikes, but works fine. The price was right too.

Fit onto my Cannondale Synapse juts fine.

good, sturdy and easy to install

works great!

Looks and works as well as I had expected...was easy to install...very satisfied with both product, pricing and delivery...would recommend.
