This XLC adjustable stem worked out well for my 2011 Giant Seek Two (urban pounder type). I was able to raise the handlebars so that pressure came off my back and provided me a bit more handlebar leverage (control). The stem seems good and strong and has not slipped its adjustment.

The only negative was the end that grips the fork was about 1/4 inch shorter than the stock stem's grip. I couldn't properly cinch down the top adjusting screw, and had to add another spacer to the existing stack on fork. That further raised the handlebar just slightly which was fine with me.

This solved a problem I had on two different bikes my sons received for Christmas, both of which had non-adjustable handlebars. I was surprised when I tried to adjust the handlebars on the bikes after raising the seats and found they couldn't be raised. I don't understand why a manufacturer makes a bike with a seat that can be raised 6" but the handlebars can't be raised. Who is going to hunch over that far - which was my son's immediate complaint after I raised his seat a couple of inches. Why do they even make a bike that way? I guess so accessories like these have a reason to exist.

They installed easily on both bikes and solved the "too low handlebar" problem. Both are happy riders now. Solidly designed and so far have worked great.

Used a 1 1/8 adapter to install this on a hybrid bike because my stem was too short.
- It looks very cool
- the angle markings were definitely a big help to find the right setting with trial and error
- the bolts are tight, the whole stem feels solid and there is no rattling, no moving
- very easy to install

Hope this helps :)

This fits the small handlebar. If your MTB comes with a "fat" center then this will not fit. I had to buy a new handlebar. But, that was cheaper than trying to get everything swapped out. This is a light weight, solid, high quality stem. I installed this in a few minutes. The adjustable part is great. Now I can raise or lower my handlebars to fit my ride. I can adjust this almost straight up or angle it out. The screws are all Allen head, about 4 or 5 mm.
The screws do not strip when I put my weight on them and torque them down. This is a vast improvement over the factory stem.

Ask yourself: Do you really need a stem that adjusts (as opposed to some fixed angle)? Is it okay if it weights a bit more?
If so, then YES this is for you.
The weight (roughly 450 grams) is almost double a good quality fixed stem (also double the price). It's weight is actually about the same as a low-quality fixed stem (for the same price). So if you go with a fixed stem, buy a good one! Otherwise, you may as well have one that adjusts.

I'm very happy with this stem. Very good quality and the price was great. The end that goes over your headset is 35mm tall. The non-adjustable stem I replaced was 40mm tall so I had to stop at the bike store and pickup another 5mm headset spacer. If your going to order this, measure your existing stem and see if you will need to pickup any headset spacers in advance and you can save yourself a trip to the store (just do a search for "headset spacers").

This stem works great. I installed it on my hybrid bike and it really improved the ride by raising my bars up 20 degrees. The stem is longer than my stock but by raising it 20 degrees, it brought the length back to close to what it was stock. It hold in places well and installs very easily. But I installed one of these on my road bike and it wasn't the same for me. I wound up returning it. It was too long for the geometry of my road bike and extended me to far forward. But awesome for my hybrid!

i love this stem! fit on my 2004 trek 3700 like a glove! the adjustable part does creak when your going up a hill or you get up and off the seat for more power up hills but it works great, the one i got was a little narrower on the steerer tube so i added a spacer and bam! Someone said the stem creaks, yeah if you don't tighten down the bolt, that happened and I tourqued it down and zero creaks going up hills

Solide verarbeitet.
