Metal frame with grip coated by rubber for comfortable and anti-slip handling
There is a backup pin with the chain splitter, made by stainless steel, more strong and not easy bending
There is a chain hook holds bike chain during the assembly
Fits the following: Common bicycle chains of 7/8/9/10 speed, suitable for most of bicycles
The hollow screw, on the opposite side of the pin, needs to be screwed in to support the chain while you twist the handle and apply pressure to push the pin out
1, Please make sure the pin aligns with the chain pins
2,Turn the screw on both sides until the chain pin is cut off
Because the size of each chain is different, you may need to find a fixed place for your chain before screwing
Tolerances and angles are just not there—pin goes a bit diagonal as you apply pressure.
Doesn't work. The tabs that hold the chain in place bent after only a few uses. Now that the chain is held at an angle, the tool bends the chain as it pushes the pin in. Would not recommend
Great chain tool. Well made and makes breaking a chain a walk in the park. I love the grippy handle. My old chain splitter did not have this and was way more difficult to use. And it comes with a handy tool that makes reassembling the chain much easier.
It was very easy to break and put the bicycle chain back together using this tool. I used it several time in past few days. Great tool to have. Quality is great.
This tool is solid. I have owned other chain breakers that were flimsy and endlessly frustrating to use. The price is great and the tool works flawlessly. Just use a little oil.
Easy to break the tip have to be really cautious when you use it.has to be right in the center or the tip is gone!!!
Broke and reassembled 3 chains in minutes. If you don't have experience breaking chains I'm sure you can youtube it.
I was restoring a vintage Schwinn Suburban and needed to remove the chain. This tool worked flawlessly to remove the pin and then to reinsert it when reinstalling the chain.
Was doubting this tool.
This is a good chain tool. With this you don't need a quick link or special joining link. You just measure and break the chain at the right spot by pushing the pin almost out, then reconnecting the links by pushing the pin back in, give it a little extra squeeze, then bend it slightly back and forth sideways a couple of times
Simple and works great. Northing to add.
Worked like a charm
