The X-Training pad set is designed to offer the most protection out of all K2 pad sets while remaining comfortable and breathable. New cap designs for knee and elbow pads and an innovative wrist guard create the best K2 pad set to date.
I had the old-style wrist guards, with a long rectangular piece of plastic bent at an angle. Nothing wrong with 'em, but these are worlds ahead in terms of protection when I fall. I used to scrape up my hands with the old-style guards -- they did protect my wrists, but they left lots of my palm exposed. These let me fall scrape-free, and they're so much more rigid that I feel much safer. The result is that I'm more relaxed when I skate.
Read the reviews before buying, took note of that the size ran small and I can agree with it. I have small hands that small size gloves are usually a tad too big for me, so these in Small fit me just perfectly. I use these when I'm on my aggressive skates at the skate park, saved my wrists on multiple falls. I'm pretty aggressive and my falls are usually really bad, these really prevented my from scrapping my palms raw.
Just like pic.
These wrist guards have saved my butt many times. It's made it enjoyable to fall on my hands because I just don't feel it! Whenever I'm using my aggressive skates, I always make sure to bring these along. If I fall off a ramp, these are more than enough. If I miss a rail, these make sure I don't hit the ground too hard. And they're amazingly flexible/comfortable! One guard on my right hand is just enough to ensure I don't get a fracture. In fact, I got a micro-fracture a while ago because I fell while skating but did not have these suckers on. My bad! While I was trying to find the money to pay for x-rays and medical attention, I used these as makeshift splints so that I wouldn't hurt my hand further while sleeping. They did the job! Anyways, these are great wrist guards for protecting your wrists in ANY sport. They will definitely save your butt!
I followed the size charts and it told me I should get a S. But it doesn’t fit! it's too small..
I bought these to protect my son while skateboarding but these only cover the front of the wrist not the back for extra support. Plus they were expensive (that's why I thought they would be good). Not so great. I have since then bought another brand of wrist guards that came with knee and elbow pads for the same price of these K2 wrist guards.
I read all the good reviews and that's how I made my decision to purchase these. For once, what a mistake ! These wrist guards will only save you from scrapes but certainly not from a broken wrist if you happen to fall in an ackward way. They are too short and do not offer any real support. You might use them if your wrist hurts a bit as a support but that's it. My daughter broke her wrist because of a silly, zero-speed fall. Had she had these on, the result would have been the same. I had bought 2 pairs and I'm returning them both.
