I recently accomplished a goal of mine and was looking to spoil myself and saw this hoverboard at an affordable price and I’ve always wanted to get one since they came out but could never afford it. Now that I could I got it with same day delivery.
It came later that night and despite the handful of bad reviews I saw plenty good ones and thought I’d be ok. The first 2 days it worked great, charged it out the box and after it was full, it rode like a beaut. I just rode it inside (that’s what I bought it for) just across my living room floor and was ecstatic.
Day 3 comes by and I’m pestered with an annoying beeping sound, now I read the manual and didn’t know why it was beeping. I didn’t obstruct the wheels in any way, I wasn’t going back & forth for more than 10 seconds, the battery was still green, and I wasn’t going fast just from one couch end to the front door not even 2mph. I turned it off and then back on and it seemed ok but not 30 seconds later the beeping ensues AGAIN. I determined it had to be recalibrated bc nothing else made sense. Surely after I did this it would work, WRONG.
1. The lights that were said to be red when calibrating (headlights) were blue so I was confused as to when to turn it off. I waited about 30 sec and nothing changed so I turned it off. And when I got on 15 sec later, yup you guessed it MORE BEEPING.
2. I left it unused for about 2 hours since the manual (which I read again just in case I missed something) stated that it could be the battery overheating. After those 2 hours it worked for at least 30 sec and then MORE BEEPING.
I’m frustrated as hell right now because this is giving me more stress than it’s worth. I bought the 3 year plan but they routed me to Amazon who’s sending a replacement. Hopefully that one will yield better results.
Update: Got my replacement & everything is working beautifully! No problems and quick response from Amazon. Guess it was just a defect in the last one I got!
I bought this for my nephew because he wanted one that went 10 miles an hour. So I bypassed many others that cost $50 less for this one. It clearly says in the specs on this site that max speed is 10 mph. It was delivered today and the box says that the max speed is 7 mph. This could be considered fraudulent advertising as I could have bought one for $50 less that would go 7 mph. Do not buy based on specs displayed.
Purchased, son used a handful of times, started smoking , smells of burnt rubber/plastic and no one answers at the DGL Group phone number- quite said, as it was a birthday gift:(
We even purchase the protection plan through Asurion and they repeatedly are referring us to the manufacturer. DGL Group.
Hoping Amazon will help out since no one else is.
I'm a disabled elderly senior citizen who had purchased a supposedly brand new blue color Hover-1 Ultra Hoverboard Electric Scooter to be attach to a recently purchased Hovercraft !! You can't imagine my anger and frustration when they sent me a BLACK DEFECTIVE NON-WORKING USED MODEL!!! I want a brand new blue model that I originally paid for effective immediately. It's non-advantageous to exploit the most fragile group in our society due the Coronavirus crisis. Do the Right Thing!! We Are All In This Together!! So they say!!
The hoverboard was purchased in October 2019 for a Christmas present. My son used it from Christmas day until January 5th and it already broke.
I opened a ticket with Hover-1 on January 11th. They replied back finally on January 22nd asking for pictures of the hoverboard. I sent them the information and I have not heard back from them since, even after countless emails. There is no phone number to get a hold of them.
My son is devastated! Spent a lot of money on a product that didn't even last 2 weeks. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PEICE OF JUNK!!!!!!!! There are plenty of other manufacturers to go with.
This is the second. Hover-1 product That I have ordered. This first was Hover-1 Titan and has been an excellent hover board. The Ultra is a good one too but had a charging or battery problem. It would not charge. I plugged it in and the light was red and turned green after approximately 3.5 hrs. Pressed the start button and the red light came in and it kept beeping. Tried again and same thing. Returned the item.
Love it. Finding out it is great exercise on the calf muscles
