Brands:Brand: Shark Snot
Freedivers use specialized wetsuits known as open cell wetsuits. These wetsuits adhere to the skin more closely, making them significantly warmer, but require lubrication to put on without ripping the delicate, rubbery inner surface. Shark Snot is a lubicant made specifically for this purpose by freedivers who couldn't find anything that didn't contain irritating soaps, toxic preservatives, or clingy sythetic fragrances. Shark Snot is safe to soak in for hours and absolutely harmless to aquatic environments. It gets its slip from food-grade seaweed extract and is preserved with two edible substances naturally found in the ocean (MSM and colloidal silver.) Great for sensitive skin, easy on expensive suits, and the ocean won't even know we're there.
Mixed per instructions, tried it out today on my opencell wetsuit. Worked like a charm. I used about .2 oz/4.9ml of the mixed solution in my suit and it slipped right on. No rash or other skin issues.
Went out on a limb with this product. Didn't expect it to work. Been using Suite Juce forever and couldn't get any for an upcoming dive so I decided to try Shark Snot because it was available. I was very pleasantly surprised, didn't have the beauty salon smell of hair conditioner which I hate and my open cell suit slid on like a second skin. I will now only use this product! Works better than suit Juice and comes with a better dispenser.
Confused by the previous review. I tried this based on the instructions. It actually made it much more difficult to get my suit on than if I hadn't used it. So the next time I added 2 more oz of the concentrate than it called for. This helped, but not optimally. I borrowed a friend's lube brand and my suit slid on and off, twice. Doesn't even compare to this. This is less expensive but still not worth the money. Would rather pay more and get something that really works.
Used this with my 3mm open cell suit for spearfishing. Its super slippery and got the job done. What i didn't like is the limited shelf life after mixing it up in the spray bottle also it seemed to really dryout my hair
Great product. So happy not to have to put conditioner in the ocean everytime I dive
I love this all natural lube for my wetsuit, it doesn’t have me feeling gross and slimy after being in my wetsuit for hours on end. This is my second time purchasing it and I’m going to keep coming back
Great for my open cell wetsuit. It didn’t cause any chafing or a any weird smell. Washes right off after. Will buy again
Used as a lubricant to put on wetsuit. Amazing and it doesn't hurt your skin or the environment. I love it.
