This is a good swim shirt and a bad surf shirt, which, really I should have known from the price point.

This shirt rides up while surfing, so I'm constantly yanking it down while paddling to avoid a tramp stamp burn. The zipper is good quality, but it is full-sized. I get sore on my sternum from it pressing into me on my board. One time I had a little bruising. Two stars for surfing because you shouldn't have to think about or feel your shirt so much while being active.

On to the good. This shirt is a really exceptional value for lounging around a pool, river, or lake and keeping cool and getting a little extra sun protection. It never feels sopping wet, dries super quick, and doesn't get moldy in the bag. The adjustable neckline with the zipper is nice, too. Four stars for lounging. (One star off because I easily get a tan through it, so I'm a little skeptical of the UPF 50 rating).

Buy another product. I am 5’ 9” and weigh 135 lbs and I got the medium. It was too short in both the arms and waist length. I was willing to deal with this and used it anyway-big mistake. While at the beach, it was made me extremely hot-to the point where I had to take it off.

Later, after I had put it back on when I went in the pool, it felt okay (because I was already cooled off from the pool).

When I went to shower in the evening, my arms and stomach were colored black. The dye from the material rubbed off and left a dark residue all over. This was very upsetting, and lead to a rather long shower since I had to scrub all of the stain off of my body.

Spend a little more and buy name brand.

Great quality for a very good price, fits really well. I’m 5’9” around 140 lbs and I bought a small. I was worried the sleeves would be too short but they are perfect. I like the full zip so it’s easy to throw over a swimsuit or take it off once I’m done using it.

This is a great swim shirt that does work at blocking the suns rays. The cut is also more flattering than I even expected. It is great for ocean swimming as I got stung by a jellyfish twice on my vacation to Thailand before I had this. It's lightweight and not too hot. The only thing I don't like is that I'm tall, 5'9, and this is just an inch or two shorter than is comfortable. It only barely meets the top of my swim shorts. In the back it can stretch down more but the zipper makes it so the front can't be stretched down. But the zipper is also something that is nice to have since it's easier to put on versus over the head ones. So that's a bit of a trade off.

I originally was very disillusioned to find out that the size Large was too small. It fit more like a small. So I asked for a refund and I must give kudos to the customer service that was excellent.
That said, the material is fine and soft.
Colors are vibrant.
The top is very striking.
I was sad to say I couldn't wear it, but oh well. If you're petite it'll fit just fine. I'm still working on my petiteness.
If the sizing were a bit more 'forgiving' I'd of gone with 4-5 stars.

I bought this swim jacket for a snorkeling trip in Mexico. I am pale and burn easily. I'm so glad that we brought it because before we got on the boat, the snorkeling company told us that we were not allowed to use sunscreen of any kind. I explained that I had purchased reef safe sunscreen (for my hands and face) but they said we could not use it. (We were able to apply any type of sunscreen on the dock but could not on the boat) This swim jacket protected me well from the sun and I didn't have to worry about reapplying anything. I also bought (somewhere else) swim leggings to have full coverage! It's so worth it! When I read the reviews about the smaller fit, I purchased mine a size bigger. It was a perfect fit. I would recommend this product to others!

I order this in x-small to try first, I'm petite 105 lb. 5"ft tall. It fits perfectly, very form fitting, feels a little tight, although I would've liked it just little bit more relaxed. The material is thin and soft and stretchy. I recommend order one size bigger.

Update: I just received my second order for a bigger size, it feels much better. Definitely order size up. With the previous one I felt like I couldn't breathe.

My daughter got sunburned really bad last summer and we noticed early on this summer that her skin was not being protected by sunscreen the way it had before. So we went searching for a swim shirt that would fit her body type AND be easy for her to put on and take off while it was wet by herself as she would be using it for summer camp. This shirt was AWESOME! She wore it twice before camp and then for the week of camp and it protected her skin and lived up to, even exceeding, our expectations for quality in all areas. It was great until July 2nd when our home burned down and the shirt, along with most of our other belongings was lost to the fire. At least I know that next summer we won't have to go searching we will know exactly where to find shirts to protect our family.
