Case with Padded Divider.
I've used Pelican cases for years, but always with pluck out foam. This version with the padded dividers is a huge improvement. I liked it so much, I bought padded dividers for all my other cases. Also, the clasps on this case seem easier to lock down than the older versions.
I'm very happy with this. It's a bit heavy but not too bad.
It's a Pelican case, so it's generally great, but all the padded insert dividers are the same size!? No flexibility...
I bought this for my trip to Europe. I had just gotten a new DSLR and 3 lenses for Christmas and was going to Europe a few months later. I wasn't about to put my camera in a suitcase and hope for the best from the airlines. This case was small enough to be considered carry on so I went for it. I got the case that has the velcro dividers so that I could divide up the case according to the equipment I had. I think that's a little extra than the cutout foam, but I think it is well worth the upgrade. Instead of cutting out the foam and being stuck with that if equipment changes, I can change the configuration at any time to match my needs. This thing was like a safe. I took it on planes, trains, buses and never once worried about my camera or my lenses. I even used it to hold some of my documents and my chargers. Great product, great price. If you're at all concerned about protecting your photography investment while traveling, this is the case for you.
Just took my first extended trip with my camera gear safely packed away inside this case. It housed a Canon T5i, Olympus EM10, four lenses, a flash, spare batteries and other, smaller miscellaneous equipment and manuals. This can handle being treated roughly. Locks securely. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
I have had Pelican cases before. They are the best. I use mine for cameras that I take exploring on my jet ski. Water proof is needed in this situation. The only gripe I have is that I have to remove the extra battery / vertical grip as it makes the DSLR cameras too large to fit in the case, however, this case is what I needed and what I expected. It carries more than I expected. I am extremely pleased!
I originally bought the 1450 but had to return it since it was small for my gear. The 1504 accommodates my 5DMkIII, 70-200mm, 16-35mm and G12 with plenty of room left when I add a 24-70mm and a flash unit. The construction is solid and ample padding to ensure the equipment does not shift during transport. Highly recommended and worth the money given the value of the equipment it protects.
This thing is a beast. Works great for my camera gear.
Best case ever!
