In StockI purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son, but we got an unexpected surfing swell on Florida’s gulf coast this week, so I let him try it out. It’s unusually cold here in Florida, but I figured a 3mm would be warm enough for 60 degree days. Sadly, I listened to the reviews here, but maybe they don’t have actual surfers? Maybe they just had kid’s who play in the water? My son was literally shivering after less than 30 minutes of surfing. I debated returning this wetsuit. But it is well made, and I figured that Florida weather is not usually THIS cold. So the majority of time my son will be using this wet suit, it will be warmer. I wish I had purchased the 4mm, but I’ll keep this one anyway due to the coldest months thankfully being short-lived. I will still need a 4mm wetsuit, otherwise he’ll miss out on some amazing surf. |
This is absolutely the best kid's wetsuit for temperate/cooler waters. The zippers at the ankles make it easy on and off. Fits great!! I have a slender son who normally wears a size 8. I purchased a size 10 b/c I knew he would be growing and I didn't want it to be too short quickly. Besides, it was a very good price. B/c I bought bigger, it bunches a tiny bit at the calves, but not noticeable to his movement. In fact, he won a skimboarding contest (involves a lot of running) while wearing this suit. |
We've been using this wetsuit for 2 seasons and it is continuing to hold up VERY WELL. We purchased a size up so that our little one wouldn't outgrow the suit. It has definitely been worth the money. This suit keeps our LO warm year round. She is able to swim in an outdoor pool in moderate temperatures and never get cold, she swam in an indoor pool that wasn't heated and never got cold. If you're looking for a reputable brand that will last, is warm, and still provides flexibility, I recommend the O'Neill brand. |
This suit worked out great. My 6 year old is 48 inches and 56 lbs- we bought size 6 and it fit perfectly. She's been swimming in the 70 degree pool with out any complaints of cold. |
This is a great wetsuit. The 6 is just right for our petite 8 year old (see photos) The zippers on the ankles are a great feature - we all know the wetsuit dilemma. This 3/2mm wetsuit keeps the kid in the water hours longer than her sister who only has a 2mm wetsuit. Great for spring and fall in SoCal waters. Could probably use during warmer winter days. |
I purchased this wetsuit for use by my teenage son on a week long winter SCUBA and snorkeling trip in the Caribbean. The suit was comfortable, held up well, and did not leak at any of the openings. We did have to exchange it for a larger size. According to the size chart my slender 5'2" 102 lb boy should have found the size 14 the right length, but a little loose. The 14 was actually way too small and the 16 fit perfectly. |
Got this because my son grows like a weed. We stick to this style and brand after buying our first one at a local shop (my son tried several). As one of the more affordable brand name youth wetsuits, it's a good deal. The zippers at the bottom are the best part of the suit: they make it easier to remove the suit when it's wet. |
Great wetsuit. Played in the cold Pacific for a almost 2 hours. We had purchased another, less expensive wetsuit and it did not work very well - this wetsuit was far far better. |
