About Our Company
In 2016, Kevin & Mark were sitting on the boat at their family cottage in Cape Cod, MA. They were discussing the possibility of starting a company together and were brainstorming ideas for the best path to take. Growing up, their families spent most summers on the pond. Boating, swimming and fishing was part of their upbringing. It's something they're both passionate about and it made sense to build a company around their passions. A few months later, BEST Marine & Outdoors was born.Read more Read more Read more Read more
As others have noted, look no further than this product. When I received it and opened up the package I was blown away by the all-around quality of this product. The ease of hanging these racks was also impressive. Took me very little time to hang them and my kayak is now off of the floor. This company takes pride in their products and it definitely shows. Their customer service is second to none. and I will buy from them again.
We have been looking for some storage racks that would work for our small garage. These were recommended to us in a yak group on Facebook by Best Marine & Outdoors and I always want to support my fellow yakkers!!! Ordered them and got them two days later!!!! This product is super high quality, great padding, extremely strong and easy to install!! My husband was super impressed with the high quality and at a super great price!!! If you are looking to hang your yaks or canoe this is the product you want!!! Love this product and will be looking at more products from Best Marine & Outdoors!
This is a great rack for any kayak as our Malibu 2 XL is definitely on the larger side of the spectrum and it holds it with ease.
Folks look no further if you're in the market for a rack for your kayak! I was looking for a rack for the garage to mount my kayak to the wall and this does the job beautifully. Rack came nicely packed so it shipped without damage, high quality materials, and perfect fit for the garage. Easy to use and the padding helps hold the kayak while you use the connected strap to lock it in place. Insert golf clap here. Well done.
The hardest part of putting up the rack was finding the studs in my finished garage. Once we found them, putting it us was a piece of cake. I love how the directions that came with it gave a measurement range for different size kayaks as to the spacing of the racks when putting them up. The rack is sturdy and well padded. It's easy for me to place the kayak on the racks. It opened up so much more space in my garage.
This is an easy install. My kayak is 12’, they recommended 35 to 45% distribution between racks. Place racks around third way for weight distribution, and use a stud finder to insure your screwing the screws into a stud. Don’t screw into drywall only!!
Setup in just a few minutes. Nice and sturdy. Fits on single stud and no need to fiddle around building up the stud. Screws are nice and beefy so just pre drill holes so studs don't split and you are good to go.
It's a solid 4 stars for now. If it holds up to NH winter's outside then I'll bump it up to five. Admittedly I was wicked excited to be buying from a New England local company, but that excitement was killed the moment I got the package... "Made in China" right on the box. Now that 20$ premium over the Chinese version is kinda a slap in the face. The screws that came with the unit seem ok but since I was drilling into 200 year old barn wood I opted to use my 2.5inch exterior deck screws. I was able to get them flush enough where. Not concerned about catching my kayak. The straps seem to be decent quality and the fasteners are a thick plastic and feel like they will hold up well. What this really needs is a place to attach a security cable to.
I ordered a pair of these as a bit of an experiment to store my 17' sea kayak on a garage wall. I currently have two kayaks, but a third is likely to appear at some point. I didn't want to order more than one pair of these bars only to find they weren't very good. But, the solidity and fine finish of the bars and protective padding were a very pleasant surprise, and the webbing (with side release clips) to retain the kayak in the crook of the bars is tough, convenient, very generously long and adjustable. Obviously a lot of thought and effort has gone into the design and build of these. I mounted them in the garage without much difficulty (they come with good quality beefy Philips screws and suitable rawl plugs too), and the kayak sits in them very nicely indeed. I've just ordered another pair for the Green Goddess (Dagger Katana). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these.
Super fast delivery. Product as advertised. Top service
