I bought this pump mostly for low-pressure inflatable boats, which are filled to 0.5 or 1 PSI, as well as for a SUP that gets filled to 15 PSI. The first time I inflated my kayak to 1 PSI, the pump worked perfectly and I was totally pleased with it. The pump is easy to use, and shows the current pressure as it fills the item. I then filled my SUP and the pump worked well enough, although it is quite loud and I can inflate the SUP manually just as quickly as the pump does. Now, every time I try to blow up a 1 PSI item the display rapidly ramps up to 1 PSI and the pump shuts off when the chamber is barely filled at all, rendering the pump useless to me for nearly all of the items I need to inflate. This pump looks completely identical to quite a few others available here under different brand names, and I am hoping that this is not a design flaw affecting them all. I have contacted the seller and will update this review if the situation improves. Right now I am thoroughly disappointed.
UPDATE: The seller responded promptly to my concerns and is making arrangements to help me out. Meanwhile, I have used the pump a few more times and although I am mostly having the same issue as earlier with my low-pressure boats, it is working well with my SUP. I'm changing my rating from 1 star to 4 stars because the seller has been so responsive and I am now anticipating a positive outcome.
Holy cow -- totally worth it! I tried many other pumps before landing on this one and I wish I'd have just gotten this one first. What a time saver! Let it inflate while you get your other stuff going -- it shuts off so you don't have to babysit it.
FYI:. you may want to get a cigarette lighter type extension cord too. I can't reach from my pickup cab to my rear bumper with the built in cord. With the cord length, it'll be tough if you have limited parking or space.
If you have any kind of inflatable paddle board or kayak this is hands down the best accessory you can get. Plug it in, set your desired psi, and then drink your coffee until you’re ready to roll. Save your energy for the paddle instead of the pump. Also works in reverse so if you need to deflate to transport it’s a breeze.
This is strong enough to handle a paddle board, and fills my kayaks well! its easy to use and the cigarette lighter plug has a long enough chord to get to my car and leave room to work. it comes with many easy to use head attachments so filling my paddleboard, kayak and cushions all work well with different heads. Love this, wish it came with a bag! I might get one with a built in battery as well
Simple quick to use. My girlfriend and I have Bote boards. Inflated them with the hand pump and realized how out of shape I am. So bought this. It does take a little time to blow up which people have complained about. But that’s just how it is with these small portable pumps. Works perfect though since I’ll start one board then start unpacking all the rest of our gear and coolers. I would buy it again
I really like it. I haven't had it but for one lake trip. Paddle boards, Check. Splash Island, Check. Floats and beach ball, check. Good bye life of pumping and inflating via lungs. Hello, future.
I did notice that it allows you to set the PSI or Bar pressure but I did not see it happen. I may have just been wearry leaving my pump unattended and stopped it right at the mark but I did not notice it stop for me once. Paddle Boards were my main concern for that.
Low pressure pump works until about .73PSI, then high pressure pump won't kick in. It kicked in twice, then, even after cooling for a couple hours, the high pressure pump won't work.
I bought this pump in August, 2019 and used it until I put the boat away in September. Tried to use it for first time this year in June of 2020 and high pressure stage only worked twice. now it won't kick in at all.
This pump works great. It starts with the low pressure pump to get the board filled quickly and then automatically changes to the high pressure pump to finish in just over 10 minutes. It's a little pricey but worth it
