I was drawn to these because of the design. I thought that they might seal better than the ring type seals as they have less surface area that needs to be sealed. In practice, I haven't been able to tell much difference between the two types. The one negative is that I did have a couple of these pop off of the stopper nipple during normal handling. I have been using both types of seals to make numerous batches of Kombucha. I would estimate that these seals have been through about 20 uses/batches over about 18 months. There is no discernible wear. |
I had loads of bottles with the seal missing due to perishing but they are in use again - yay. |
Pleased that it is easy to acquire replacement parts for the Kilner bottles. I like the quality and design of their products |
