Do not buy this bag at full price. $100 USD for this bag is outrageous. I have a 105cm Beuchat free-diving fin bag with a cooler, large compartment with enough room to store my fins + a full wetsuit/boots/gloves, and that was $109 USD. I received a FREE deck bag with the purchase of my Tahoe Zephyr SUP (HIGHLY recommended!) and it has more volume, is made of material that is more water resistant, and has heavy duty clips for the deck plugs. |
Overall, a high quality product from a company with a reputation for top notch gear. However, I was disappointed with the overall design and functionality of this product. The very narrow outer mesh side pockets are oddly shaped with a larger opening on the bottom and smaller on the top of the bag. I was hoping to use these pockets for water containers but only the smallest of water bottles will fit in this pocket and will most likely slip out the bottom when picked up by its grab handle. The second design issue is the dry bag that is located on the inside main compartment, which has an difficult to close ziplock seal and limited ability to roll top it close. Thirdly, the plastic insert to maintain the bags structure is simply held in place by tension and has a tendency to shift about. The placement is not at all secure and moves around easily within the inside of the bag. There needs to be designed some small pockets in the fabric for the ends of the plastic to insert, limiting movement. In addition to the grab handle, a simple shoulder strap should be included. |
I like this bag although I have no idea why the bottle holder was not included with the bag. Makes no sense to me to include a clip for the holder but no holder. All else is good. Sticks well to the deck in a roll or self rescue. Could use clips to attach to the deck lines in addition to the included velcro strips. Interior drybag works well for now but seems a little fragile. It could have been a nylon bonded drybag like an OR drybag, rather than a ZipLoc-like bag. |
Great bag as others have stated. My only gripe is that the inner plastic shell is too soft and does not retain the shape as well as it should. The bag simply flexes too much. |
My only gripe is I wish the removeable plastic form was a bit stiffer and stayed in place better. The included dry bag is a zip and roll type that works ok. Well enough for a deck bag I think but I do not try and roll with it on. Makes reaching often used items much easier. I put my phone in a Pelican case and take it along. It will hold a Nalgene bottle and much more with ease. The side nets have draw cords to keep items in place and holds my bilg pump and paddle float well. The build quality seems excellent. I do wish it came in more collors as the red/black does not go with many yaks. The reflective piping works well. I found it quite easy to attach to my deck rigging. |
I was so happy with the size of this bag...it will hold all of my "just in case" things I think i need to carry with me haha. Well made and will last years i am sure. |
Excellent bag. Straps right to the deck lines and puts everything you need right at your fingertips. Comes with a drybadg insert, but I find that I don’t need it. |
I like the bag very much, however, would like more information about being able to transport it. Can straps be purchased, or hooks, to attach the bag to something? Right now I see this as a potential problem since it only has a small loop for hand carrying. With this problem resolved I believe this could be an excellent purchase. |
