Airmar Smartsensor D/S/T, low-profile, N2K, MFG# 010-11051-00, 235 KHz, 100 Watt depth sounder module w/ speed & temp sensors. DST800 plastic low-profile thru-hull (2" shaft). NMEA 2000 data output w/ 20' cable.
This is a well-made product that is easy to install. Hint: don't use 5200 sealant unless you never want the thru-hull to come out. These will last about 3-4 years if you leave them on a lot. If you turn this on just a few times a month it will last for 5+ years. When they finally fail they do so by starting to flash the depth, then the speed and temp go. You can buy a replacement and screw it into the old thru-hull for a very fast replacement.
Very happy with this item. I had three through-hulls using 3 different instruments, only one of which actually connected to my NMEA network through a chartplotter that I used only to get depth. Now one transducer, directly into my NMEA network so I can remove the chartplotter and use valuable nav station real estate for more useful gear.
Doesn't work Reads 4.6 feet the entire time. Never changes. Faulty product that I can't return. Temp and speed work fine.
After one year and one month, the unit would worked less than 50% of the time for depth and getting worse as time passed. The rest of the time it just flashes, indicating no reading on depth. Garmin refuses to fix, saying I have to buy a new one.
It doesn’t work. This is the second one I had replaced and still does not work. Can’t return it despite a year warranty. I wouldn’t even leave a review like this if I could figure out how to return it.
I have been having an issue with it. It shuts off all data until you turn it off and back on. It has conflicts with other deviceson the NEMA 2000 system.
We have a 2008 Mastercraft X15 and the DTS800 good for about 2-4 years and then it breaks. We keep the boat on the lift and it gets average use per year. It's frustrating because the cost for the boat and then having to replace these is a real disconnect with the Mastercraft Brand in a large part due to the quality of this supplier. There are no other options if you a need Depth, Temp and Speed and don't want to put in separate gauges in your boat which has its own set of challenges with integrating with the wiring and gauges. More than likely if you want this or need the DTS800 you will purchase it for your boat, just know it will break again. Sad but the truth....
It was a good replacement for my faulty transducer
