No perfumes, dies or softeners used in finishing. Ideal for tennis or other high impact sports, or for general use when extra cushion is desired. The socks are knit with Hi-bulk Acrylic yarn and use Hi-splice grey yarn in the foot for extra cushioning. The tops are welted so the top will not unravel and will add to long life for the socks. Only two wearings so far, but these Cushees Thick socks really do have feet just about as thick as the very expensive "heavy cushion" Thorlos brand models for tennis, basketball, etc. While the Cushees material may not feel as 'luxurious' as Thorlos, they are about 1/3 the price. The other thing I noticed immediately is that the feet of these Cushees look and feel almost exactly the same as what PowerSox Pro-Thicks used to be (unfortunately, those now seem to be cheaply made -- much thinner, less soft, smaller). In short, right now, these Cushees seem to be the best thickly cushioned socks available at a reasonable price. The question is how they'll hold up over time when used for daily running and after many dozens of washing machine/dryer cycles. My experience with both the expensive Thorlos and the very inexpensive PowerSox Pro-Thicks has been that holes develop at stressed points (e.g., big toe) and the heels really thin out if used for miles of running each day. Finally, I can't resist noting that most of the other brands I've tried that claim to have thick or heavy cushioning do not in fact have such cushioning, unless you're just comparing them to paper-thin men's dress socks or women's stockings.
Ordered for my husband who has type 2 diabetes and is very well controlled on an Insulin Pump. Nevertheless, I am well acquainted with the foot damage experienced by many diabetics. These stocks provide plenty of extra cushioning on trouble areas such as the heels and balls of the feet. My husband notoriously sweats thru his socks ... a problem which can cause skin breakdown. The fabric used for these socks wicks away sweat and leaves his feet dry all day ... even in our 95 degree heat. Finally, the ankle portion of the sock doesn't have any areas that bind too tightly. In the past, my husband would take off his socks and he would have grooves on his ankles where the socks had been. Overall, fantastic product and I'll be offering 4 or 5 more packs of these great socks.
Holy smokers. These have the thickest dang cushions I've ever seen! THEY fit well, but my SHOES just got a lot more snug! I'm happy, though, I got two pair of walking shoes recently (sneakers, really) that were a full size too large, or more, and these Cushee socks now make them wearable. Previously, I added a set of insoles but was swimming in the clown shoes and clop, clop, clopping down the sidewalk. Now they fit comfortably snug and behave more normally. Don't know yet how the socks will do durability-wise or laundry-wise, but they sure solved a shoe-fitting problem for me. Sometimes a pair of shoes catches your eye and an unbelievable price but is available only in a size too big or so ... and these socks certainly close that gap.
Size DOES matter. The one size fits all always has been a pretty ridiculous marketing ploy, to think a size 8.5 can wear the same size sock as a size 12. And I'm the size 8.5. So this time I got the "Large Youth" size, and they fit very well. The Adult one size fits all, for a man with a smaller shoe size, just doesn't cut it. They were loose and baggy and bunched up in my shoes. The "Large Youth" size fit great. Too bad manufacturers don't recognize that one size simply doesn't fit all.
I have never problems with the outer edges of my little toes. Maybe it is my age or maybe the shape of my foot. I have had my A1C checked and I do not have diabetes. Anyway the extra thickness of this sock helps me so my feet bother me less often.
When he could not find any more pairs of this sock... as I get my husband all kinds of socks.... he was in distress.... He told me that he so loved them and is there any way I could get more... My heart melted... I researched my purchases on Amazon and found where I had purchased them... Not only is this an American Company, I believe... but these are the best and most comfortable socks on the market as they are truly cushee and thick and get softer and fluffier with age. Thank you Amazon for the easy way to research my purchase and Thank you Cushee... for an awesome product.
I an an RN and work 7 12hour shifts in a row every other week. I had spinal fusion surgery 10 days ago. In the years leading up to this I had neuropathic pain and my feet stayed cold constantly. These socks were a lifesaver! These socks are thick and cushy, they are warm and I think above all they are durable. I am about to make my third purchase in the last 3-4 years. These are by far the best socks that have ever been on my feet! Btw I have a 13 EEEE foot and these fit them great.
These are the best socks ever! My husband has neuropathy in his size 15 feet and cushy socks make them feel better. I had looked everywhere trying find socks that would fit him AND were cushy enough, which is no small task! When I found these on amazon I was hoping that they were everything that was advertised and they are. He loves them, they are cushy enough, the size is perfect - he says they don't strangle his toes! We will only buys these socks from now on, the cost is well worth it!
