Thermolator is the Terramar product where form perfectly meets function. The midweight fabric is ultra-soft and features thermoregulation technology that automatically adjusts to your body temperature. When you are cool it traps air to maintain warmth. When aerobic activity rises and the surface temperature increases the fabric allows moisture vapor to Escape to maintain comfort. Whether skiing or mountaineering, thermolator is functional performance at its best.

I bought these a few years back for my now ex bf. They are warm and comfortable and also great to walk around the house in. Flattering enough that they apparently give you the confidence to cheat on your partner repeatedly and not even feel a little bad about it.

It was a great purchase. Not that he deserved it.

I neede base layers for my 13 y.o. who usually wears Medium (5'8", 140lb). We purchased Small from Terramar and fit is perfect. I recommend buying 1 size smaller or buy in 2 different sizes, since returns are free to see what works for you best!

I purchased both top and bottom from 2 different companies:
    - this one "Terramar" Terramar Men's Thermolator II Crew,Black,Small
    - Coldpruf Coldpruf Men Platinum Long Sleeve Crew (Medium, Heather Grey)

    - this one "Terramar" Terramar Men's Thermolator II Pant,Black,Small
    - Coldpruf ColdPruf Men's Platinum Dual Layer Bottom, Black, Medium

My son prefered both pieces Terramar. Why?
    - Coldpruf was not only big (so take 1 size down as it's a bottom layer), but very bulky. The fit is not to your body, but more like a top layer shirts.
    - Not stretchy enough
    - Coldpruf is Itchy, while Terramar is soft. My son has always been sensitive to what he wears and if material is "itchy" to him - he would never wear it. He started shouting after 1 minute - "take it off, too itchy". I felt it with my hands and fabric does feel very artificial and scratchy, compare to Terramar which feels very soft. In fact I can't make him take it off and he is wearing now in house.. Lol

Returning Coldpruf, and staying with Terramar.

    Will update after the skiing!

Retains the heat well when covered. Cools quickly when not covered.

This thermal feels a little like tights. I bought the large and I were a 36 x 32 pant and there was lots of leg room left. I wear this in 28-45 degree temperatures on a motorcycle. It kept me from freezing, but if you were spending more than an hour under 32 degrees without working out you would probably need another layer.

It was very comfortable to move from cold temps to office temps, so that I did not have to remove them.

It's warm, but you can feel a little chill when it's down to about 40 degrees F. That being said it is a major improvement over my previous cotton thermals that were several times thicker but kept me just as cold. It's great at removing sweat too - I can reuse this many times over before washing it and it remains hygienic. You can never do that with cotton when you perspire!

Removed 1 star because I wished it could be warmer. Had to wear cycling pants instead of jeans when it got too cold in Yosemite (30 F).

Keeps me toasty warm. Outdoor temperature here are in the 40's F so is doing what I purchased it for. It's the third Terramar product I've purchased this year. All have performed as described. Brand name so popular that had one pair stolen at the laundromat. With this purchase I also got the top, so no more cold spots in my sleeping bag. Thanks to Amazon shipping got these in two days.

I bought this as a lightening deal so the cost was good. My goal was to use it for some extra warmth on cool camping trips. I was very happy when I wore them alone in a 40 degree bag and the temp dropped to 38. I was cool but I would have froze if not for these. Even when I opened the sleeping bag, my legs were still warm. I ended up putting my pants over them and spent the entire day wearing them. I'll buy a 2nd pair for myself and some for my sons who camp with me and always seem to forget warm clothes. I am 5'7" and the medium was a perfect fit.

This makes my 4th set and they are so comfortable, they don't shrink and don't lose its fit after multiple days on the trail. Only brand and model I will ever buy.

Silky smooth and super stretchy, zero restriction of movement, ideal base layer to wear under a heavier long underwear pant for very cold weather. I like Terramar's Military Fleece Pant over these which have a looser fit. Great combo to wear under outer pants for a triple layer. These are lightweight/silkweight, thus alone only for moderate cold, but a superb base layer.

Utterly useless for winter, as it cools you instead of keeping you warm. Walk out in -8c under my jeans, and could feel the cold right through the fabric. Had to walk back in the house in 2 minutes before catching a cold. Maybe meant for sports use, to keep you cool during intense activities.

I love the Terramar brand...these long johns are extremely well made and very comfortable...nice feeling to them- plush. Can't beat the price as well.
