I was specifically seeking a bib tight without a chamois, because they are far more versatile. I can wear my normal cycling shorts under them and get more than 1 wear between washings, meaning I only need 1 pair to get me through the winter. Extra bonus is that the chamois-free tights cost less.

I was surprised to see the negative reviews due to the lack of a chamois. Nowhere in the description does it say it comes with the Elite 3D chamois. The tights that do sell for more. I can only think that those reviewers thought they were getting a super bargain and failed to actually pay attention to the description. And then they blamed the product, rather than their own reading comprehension skills. Brilliant!

These tights are good for temps into from the 40s into the 20s, which is about as low as I'll go. The bibs make them so much more comfortable than regular tights.

These appear to be nice bib tights though it isn't cold enough for me to have used them yet so I cannot comment on that at this point. However, be aware that they DO NOT have the ELITE 3D Chamois as advertised. Everything else is as stated but that is a significant omission. Basically you will still need to wear bike shorts under them. (as a previous reviewer stated he does) I'm just trying to make it clear that they are not quite the same as advertised.

I do intend to keep these because they were heavily discounted. Had they not been so, I would be rather disappointed and would return them. As is, they are still worth getting if you can find a good deal like I did.

UPDATE 11/15/2011 - As the weather has gotten cooler I have had a chance to use these tights a bunch for both simply riding around town as well as cyclocross practice/racing. They are fantastic. I've worn them when practicing at night in 40 degree, rainy weather and they kept me comfortable. I prefer to wear these whenever I can instead of my "pull up" leg warmers. While I haven't had any issues with leg warmers slipping down, I like the fact that these bib tights will for sure stay pulled up. It's one less thing to have to think about, especially when racing. If the temperature really drops I will wear the tights over the top of my leg warmers and that works well giving plenty of protection from the cold (at least down into the high 20's) until you get going and warm up. I would definitely buy these again and I most likely will pick up a second pair at some point. I'll update this review again after I've used them a bit this winter in the snow/ice to really test out their cold weather, sub-zero performance.

Nice bib. It keeps my lower body warm for rides at temps between about 40 and 50-F. I'm 6'2", 180-lbs, 36" waste. I first tried the XXL sized bib. However it was too large so return it to Amazon. I ordered a XL bib and its very comfortable even with a pair of bike shorts underneath (I wear the bike shorts underneath the bib for the shorts chamois).

The xl fit to the loose side the chamois is comfortable it gets better every time you use them. Good Quality plenty warm enough for Southern California winter night riding.

nice bib pants very warm. I only wish there was a gel insert. Other than that im super happy with the product

These pants are nice and warm. They size and fit true to P I bib shorts. They cut the wind and still have give for a pair of tights.

Cons: not padded and very thin.. I don't think I vetted this one enough before purchasing as this was not what I was looking for.. I assume they intend this to be worn under another kit (i'm new to cycling so maybe that was stated somewhere in the description and I just missed it)..

also, I think it runs a bit small as the large fit me fine (i'm 5'10 155)..

Received my new Pearl Izumi bib tights today in anticipation of wearing them this weekend. Guess what? No chamois. How can I possibly ride without a chamois (as advertised). Waste of my time and I will be out of my money until the refund comes through.
