The best wool baselayer on the market. Combining the unique LIFA fiber technology next to skin to keep you dry, with a premium merino wool exterior with superior insulating and wicking properties.

Stay warm and dry on the slopes with this long-sleeve crew shirt from Helly Hansen. Ideal as a base layer, the shirt features Helly Hansen's signature Lifa Stay Dry Technology, which has been rated as one of the best base-layer fabrics by consumer tests worldwide. The shirt's construction includes hollow fibers and soft, warm merino wool--a combination designed to keep your skin dry and warm during cold-weather activities. Flat-lock stitching, low-bulk cuffs, and a snug, athletic fit enhance the shirt's comfort.

This product is made with Helly Hansen's HH Warm--a base layer that features two different layers in one. Inner Lifa fibers ensure that you stay dry in all conditions, while the outer layer of soft merino wool adds warmth and comfort. This means you get extreme insulation along with superior breathability.

I bought this with an early spring camping trip to Yosemite planned. It worked out great! So comfortable and soft. It fit well under my hiking clothes and also wore them to bed. I wore them off and on for five days and was so glad I made the purchase instead of trying to make do with the cheapy, synthetic base layer pants I had. I am a Large in most brands and, at 5'3", I am on the shorter side. The large fit great. Not tight. The limbs were long on me but with the cuffs at wrists and ankles to keep from getting in the way I really didn't have a problem with the length.

Arrgh. Have you ever put on a sweater or a shirt and felt instantly claustrophobic? Yeah, that's this. What's particularly frustrating is when I ordered a size up, because I generally don't like wearing tight or clingy garments when I work out or hike. Even around my arms, which are by no means the strapping sinews of a Crossfitter, felt like they were in sausage casings. Nice color, overall, but I'm deeply skeptical that this is worth over forty bucks

This runs super small, I usually order a Med and had to return the L for an XL. For warmth, it's OK - but maybe the north east weather this winter is just too brutal for anything. I was hoping it would be warmer but I tend to be cold in the winter in general. For styling, it's very cute! It feels nice on too.

When I first got this I liked it so much I bought another two, which turned out to be a mistake. The pros are that these are great for cold winter sports and unlike other similar products very comfortable to wear (SmartWool makes me itch).

The really big downside is that the fabric they are made of literally starts to disintegrate as soon as you wear it. The outer layer comes off in lumps and because for the blue ones the fabric is a white base with the colored wool on top of it, you end up with white patches all over so it looks really worn and shabby (and of course you lose the insulation too). This means the thing has a useful lifetime of about a month, which I don't think is acceptable in a $70 top. I always wash my sports gear on a cold gentle cycle and never tumble dry anything, and this happened with all three of them so I don't think it was caused by anything I did.

Helly Hansen have a warranty against defective materials but I didn't have much luck with that. They didn't answer my emails, but I eventually managed to speak to someone and they told me to send it to them to evaluate, but to expect them to take 6 - 8 weeks to decide, possibly longer if it went into the Christmas season. Since they were rather vague about what would happen even if I did wait for 8 weeks, I decided not to bother. In the end I returned one to Amazon and at least got a partial refund. I have had other Helly Hansen products in the past and always liked them, but I couldn't recommend this particular product.

    The best

This shirt performed well for a 2 day Mt. Whitney trip. I hiked in it both days and it did its job of keeping me warm under my jacket, or just keeping the sun off me and wicking sweat when worn as my only layer.

Great fit & quality. Keeps me warm during car camping.

Bought a large and it was too tight. I have two other HH base layers and love them. The design and material is great, but was just too tight for me. Returned

We went to St.Anton for snowboarding and we had no fancy clothing. We had up to -25 degrees on the piste. I bought this and HHpants for me and my partner. The 57% Merino content works. This was the 1st layer, 2nd was a thin lambswool jumper, 3rd was a woolen jumper and 4th a Winterjacket. Absolute sufficient and sometimes when the sun came out even to hot. Perfect drying over night. Some say it's itchy due to the Merino, not so for me and my partner. No 500.- fancy gore-tex thingy needed. I love it.

This base layer is warm, not itchy, high enough around your neck that you won't get a cold chest and does a marvellous job of never making you feel clammy. The price is very reasonable in comparison to other big brands with options for £45 (I bought the black one for £30 here).

Bought for girlfriend and she's very happy. We live in northern Sweden so it gets very cold and the merino wool is far better than anything else for layering. I have a mens 1/4 zip Helly Hansen which is brilliant. Far better than fleece in terms of both warmth and for wicking away moisture so you don't become too hot.

My second purchase of this top .. It's so well made .. Washes and dryers quickly.. ,keeps its shape and so good I got a back up incase one is stuck in the wash. Delivery is faster than predicted .. I already have recommend to friends

This was a Christmas present for my daughter. She is very pleased with it as it is light, yet very warm, and can be worn under a jumper, or as a jumper with a cardigan over it.

    Warm and comfortable

Worn 4 ski trips no problem. Does the job

I bought this item to wear under my regular clothes as I get so cold. It is a comfortable tailored fit and of good quality. It does the job perfectly.

its good and dose give some protection a gents the cold .

I bought this item for skiing. It proved to be very warm and comfortable. It washes well and the colour is good.It has also proved very useful in the recent cold weather.

Bought this as an under layer for skiing and it worked brilliantly. It's very long and so no gaps to let cold air in. Easy to wash and quick to dry, a good buy.

I love this shirt. It literally was my life saver during December when I was camping out for 5 days. Soft, comfortable, X small fits a size 8 well. Definitely recommend!

The warmest base layer yet, l love these. My only problem is that the sleeves are too long
    and can be unsightly.
