I want to start by saying that I REALLY liked this coat. It was going to serve me well this winter in NYC. I got to wear the coat in some 30 degree weather and managed to stay really warm with just a button down work shirt and and undershirt below that. The coat fit well enough on its own, but there was still space if I wanted another layer underneath. Unfortunately I had to return this coat though, because after 3 days the down feathers were leaking through the seams and crevices on the outside. Then I realized that there were feathers on my shirts and sweaters, we had interior leakage as well. I was really disappointed by this. I give it three stars because it is a nice coat w a hood, super warm, and fit well, but unless you get lucky and don't get leakage, there will be feathers EVERYWHERE like the Aflac duck is following you around.

Super light. Super warm! Fits fantastic! I’m 6 ft tall and weigh 426lbs and the 6X fit me great! The sleeves are the perfect length. You can comfortably wear while driving too.

This jacket is WARM! I am an Appalachian Trail maintainer and recently wore this jacket for a work hike over my assigned section. The temperature was 15 degrees at the trailhead, winds were about 10 MPH and I was wearing a base layer plus a hiking shirt underneath this coat. After about 20 minutes, I had to take the coat off because I was TOO warm. This jacket has become my go-to jacket for wear around town.

The new technology (a combination of down and synthetic fill) keeps me warmer than my heavier Mountain Hardwear hooded jacket ever did. Some people have commented about the inside of the jacket looking like a disco ball but the metallic-looking lining does a great job of reflecting your body heat.

Very lightweight jacket, very comfortable, and much warmer than you'd expect for the weight. Fabric and fill has the same feel as an ultralight sleeping bag. Despite the light fill, for me this jacket is good for the 30 degree range and up, even lower temps with a base layer or in an active situation. This is likely due to the reflective lining, though it makes the inside of the jacket look like a disco ball. Sleeves are a bit longer than other jackets which is good for slender builds. As other reviewers have pointed out, the jacket's cut is more relaxed than form fitting so there's room for multiple layers. Hood has the same fill as the rest of the jacket, and as such, does not stow away in the collar, which is fine by me- I'd rather have the warm hood than one that stows. Does not have features like sealed zippers or likely the durability for long excursions in adverse weather conditions, but that's not what it's designed for. My only complaint is that the pockets are fleece lined which, while it makes them warmer, also causes them to catch on every little bit of rough skin on chapped hands. That's really the only downfall I can think of.

Overall a great everyday jacket and the price is right. Very happy with it.

Worth noting that though this jacket has a hood, a hoodless version is also available, typically for a few dollars less.

Fitting is decent. At 6ft, 160lb and slim build, the SMALL is a good fit. Sleeve cuffs and neck are is a little loose. I wish the elastic was tighter on the cuffs.

Insulation is a little misleading. This jacket is marketed as "590 turbodown". What this means is that the insulation is 15% down and 85% polyester. From the feel of the jacket, I would presume the down is 590 fill power. This offset of poly to down fill means the jacket is heavier than a jacket that is 100% down at 590 fill power.

The omni-heat works to keep warmth close to your body. But it also feels like its sticking to my arms. Id only wear this jacket with a long sleeve shirt beneath.

I bought this for the beau to better survive our second Detroit Winter. Temperatures have been at or below freezing everyday with plenty of snow and some very windy days thrown in for the month and a half he's had this jacket. He makes a 6 mile round trek for work and uses this jacket everyday and it has already made this Winter easier for him.

The Fit: He's an XL kind of guy so I got him an XL jacket, which fits him well though there is enough room to layer with his hoodie underneath. The hood can't be tightened so he wears a hat as well.

Insulation: He's a furnace and produces a lot of body heat. The shiny interior reflects a lot of that heat back to him, keeping him warm. Adding his hoodie actually diminishes the warmth because it's soaked up into the hoodie rather than being reflected back, and creating two air gaps that need to be warmed rather than the one. Long sleeves and long johns work well and do not have the hoodie issue. On really cold days, like 20*F or less, he puts on an outer layer.

Quality and Durability: He's only been wearing it for a month but only a few feathers have managed to wiggle out, the stitching looks secure (though harder to tell on dark material), and the material does a good job insulating and has not torn. I would say this is a good quality jacket.

Packability: we both like to backpack so I chose this jacket because a previous review talked about the packability while in the Backcountry. When squished as small a ball as I could get it, it almost fit into a quart Ziploc bag. It's not a bad price for something that can pack small(ish) and doesn't weigh a lot but still keeps you warm in subfreezing temps.

He loves this jacket because it is light weight, comfortable, and most importantly, because it is effective. I highly recommend this jacket.

FAKE! The quality is bad on this jacket. I literally got this delivered today and tried it on and feather were already falling out of it... the stitching is very loose. Another tip off was, Columbia jackets come with product/price tags attached... there were none. I would NOT recommend this.

I had plenty of Columbia jackets in my life and something isnoff with this one. I am pretty sure this is a counterfeit item. The down is passing through the fabric and the quality of the seams is not what I am used to with Columbia. The jacket barely have any volume, it's flat like a pancake. Did not tested in very cold weather yet but I can wear this inside for hours without sweating, not a good sign.

After wearing the jacket one time, there was a horrible stench, similar to a wet dog. It was coming from the down insulation. I tried everything possible to get rid of the smell, but it still remains. Wish I had of returned it instead. Now I'm left with a jacket that is unwearable.

If it wasn't for the smell, I would have recommended the jacket.

Great lightweight jacket, may not be warm enough for someone who get cold easily but it is warm enough for my son who uses it all winter long with no complaints ( Ontario ). I also got another one for my other son and myself and we all like it , they are very comfortable .
