Water-Proof Rain Jacket
I got to test this today in moderate rain walking a mile and a half to work. I wore a T-shirt with this over it, and a light backpack on my back. By the time I got to work, my T-shirt was soaked in the places the backpack straps pressed against the raincoat. Also, I don't have huge arms, but this thing is tight in the elbows when I bend my arms. Lastly, the hood is a little too small to be pulled over and shield your eyes from the falling drops.
I will admit that this "jacket" looks very nice on a hanger. That, at least, is fortunate, because it is completely useless as a jacket. I have tee shirts that are heavier than this "jacket". While the description admittedly does say that it's "lightweight", I never imagined anyone would ever manufacture anything they'd call a jacket that is THIS lightweight.
All I wanted was a nice plain black rain jacket for summer travel, but it was amazingly difficult to find. Most have a huge logo on the chest or white mesh inside or weird flaps on the back or are too heavy. Really happy to have finally found this one. It is a lightweight thin summer rain jacket. Rolls up nice and small, I usually roll it towards a pocket and stuff it all inside the pocket. Barley weighs anything so it is great for throwing in a suitcase or carry on. It is a little sung in the forearms but I'm ok with that. I got it for summer and will typically be wearing a short sleeve shirt under this. It seems to do a good job with the showers I've been caught in, but I haven't been hit with a huge downpour yet.
I am 6' tall and 210 lbs and the XL is very tight on my with just a thin long sleeve shirt. I am a size 38 waist. Be aware that this does have a hood as some of the photos make it look like there is no hood.
I bought this for my husband for our Alaska cruise. He normally wears a 3X, which is the size I bought, and it fit as expected. It was terrific for the cruise because it rained all day in Juneau. The jacket was lightweight but kept him dry. It was exactly what I needed for him.
I can't believe it paid $33.99 for this basic lightweight jacket which should be selling for less than half that price. Yes, it fits as expected but compared to others on this site its way overpriced. I've also ordered two of the Gioberti Men's Waterproof Rain Jackets on this site for $24.99 each and I would recommend it if you want a heavier, hooded jacket with a non-removable lining that's a much better buy. Since I do like the look of the Global jacket, despite its price, I decided to keep it. Whether or not either its actually waterproof, I can not say because I haven't worn either in inclement weather yet.
Is the right, size for a 5"1" person. Ind just in time for the rain too. The fabric is very thin and light weight, but it keeps the rain out which is what I need it for.
it looks and feels really cheap we bought one from Ebay at same time to compare Ebay was cheaper so we thought it will be really low quality and this since its Amazon and was 15 dlls more expensive will be better quality.. well wrong! this is super light with no inlay and yes of course it's a windbreaker but the material seems like a plastic bag that thin it is. honestly looks like a thin plastic layer and it's quite expensive for that quality.
What a waste of money, so thin, looks like a trash bag and not going to serve as a winter jacket at all. You can compare this to a $10 rain coat, this product is so bad. Amazon should stop selling this.
