The Men’s Guides Down Hoody is a puffer-style jacket designed for warmth and comfort in harsh conditions. This lightweight winter coat and its attached hood are both insulated with 700 fill power down and protected with Down Defender—a moisture-resistant treatment that keeps the jacket's insulation from clumping and losing its loft when exposed to wet environments, thus increasing its ability to keep you warm when the weather takes a turn for the worse. Additionally, the Guides Hoody features zippered interior and chest pockets for storing small items, zippered handwarmer pockets for thawing cold fingers, adjustable Velcro cuffs and drawcord hem for superior fit and temperature regulation, and Marmot's Angel-Wing Movement for full range of motion.

This is a scam. I received a knock off jacket by a company called Wantdo with a Marmot tag attached to it.

I received this jacket and was very disappointed. I was looking for a heavy down jacket to wear on sometimes -30 degree days in Gunnison, CO. This is little more than a shell layer. In the pictures it looks big and puffy like coats I've gotten from Mountain Hardware and North Face in the past. My recommendation would be to buy those brands because I don't know where the 700 fill went, but it appears to have not gone in the jacket.

Didn’t know if I should give this jacket 4 or 5 stars. It is exactly what I wanted for a winter jacket; light weight, down filled. I am 5’8” and 170 lbs. The jacket fits perfectly. It also arrived in perfect condition. Hence the 5 stars. From some of the reviews I read I wouldn’t have been surprised if down feathers fell out of the package when I opened it, but that didn’t happen. All the down appears to be safely secured. The jacket is hanging in my closet waiting for colder weather. If it is as warm as advertised on a cold, snowy Michigan day my rating of 5 stars will be accurate.

I live in ridiculously cold Chicago and I already owned several winter down coats including North Face, Triple Fat Goose[ my previous favorite] and Mark Jones. I was still not totally happy with any of them. I bought this coat and it arrived yesterday. I don't want to take it off. It is very warm but soft and lightweight also. The pockets and hood are lined with down making them very warm. I don't even need to have a hat because the hood is that warm.

I still don't like winter in Chicago but this coat will help a lot!!

I wanted to love this jacket. And it has some great points. Good YKK double zipper. Good hydrophobic down, good fit. Warm core.

But the difference in the arms and torso insulation is horrible. My back and chest sweat to the point they I need to open my jacket while the cold and wind cut right through my arms. Marmot, what gives? How could you screw up so badly on sleeve down fill? I can’t wear the jacket above 30 degrees and below that my arms feel like I’m just wearing a vest. Really poor quality control.

Absolutely great jacket! Comfortable and super warm! I read some reviews that stated the jacket was thin and not puffy. My jacket came and it was compressed a bit in the shipping bag. That is easily corrected by fluffing on low temp in the dryer with tennis balls or dryer balls. I washed my jacket right away with Nikwax Down Direct followed by Nikwax Down Proof (fantastic products). I called Marmot and they recommended these products. Once done, I couldn’t believe how the jacket puffed up and is super rain repellent. Highly recommend this jacket and Nikwax product line (sold here on amazon as well).

I love this jacket. Super warm, way warmer than your typical puffy. Nice hood that cinches down well. Velcro wrists are a must for me and these work great. Good zipper pulls. So far the quality has been outstanding and the fit is perfect for me. I typically wear this under a shell since I'm in a rainy environment and this jacket fits great under my shells despite it being puffier than your average puffy. Love the lined pockets and that the draw cords are stowed in the pockets instead of dangling around elsewhere. Two way zipper is fab. No complaints, super happy to be so warm on cold days.

I searched long and hard before I made my purchase and it was impossible to find another name brand, well made, 700 fill, down jacket within $75 of what it cost me. I wore it through 5 mile walks during a polar vortex and 2 bomb cyclones in Michigan with just a wool mid-layer and stayed comfortably warm. This was the best clothing purchase I've made in years.

    CONTRAS
Impermeabilidad mejorable aunque no es mala.

On the plus side it's lightweight, reasonably warm by UK weather standards, relatively wind-proof and so far waterproof.

The sizing runs slightly small and given that it's too much trouble these days for sellers to display the sizing chart I'd recommend going to the Marmot site and checking it out there.

Unfortunately I'm between L and XL. I bought an XL to allow for extra layers, hoping that the neck and hem would be fully adjustable. They're not. A couple of loops of cord are apparent but these do nothing.

The hood is enormous and comes down over the eyes, making you look like Kenny from South Park. Again, there is no adjustment and no strap to hold it down when not in use. If you're wearing a head torch and it's raining you have the choice of getting wet or stumbling along in the dark.

And the zip. I hate these left-handed double zips. Nobody even knows what they're for, with people talking about absurd situations such as if you're caught up K2 and you need to whiz in a bush without hoiking your hemline. Unless you have your genitals protruding from your abdomen I can't even see this as an issue, and if you were up K2 in this thing you'd have more than a stained hemline to worry about - you'd be frozen solid and on your lying back like a dead beetle before you reached base camp.

I was almost put off by the review from another customer about the jacket being shiny in black, but i am so glad i bought it. I would not agree that it looks shiny. It has what i would describe as a soft sheen. Its certainly not shiny like you can get with some jackets. Its very nice and very warm too. The hood is adjustable at each side and doesnt come over your eyes when zipped right up. I like the fact there's a zipped inside pocket as well as a zipped chest pocket too and two side pockets which are also zipped. Warm and lighweight. Perfect and very pleased with it after trying many other brands of down jackets. 700 fill is super and its responsible filling too.

I did a lot of research before buying this jacket and because of reviews all over the net I decided on this one. When it came the package was so small I thought it must be a mistake. When I opened it the jacket looked so thin I thought it couldn't be any good.

However, looks can be deceptive. It is very warm and stops the wind. The duck down has filled out so it now looks thicker. There are good pockets and the hood is great. The cuffs can be tightened to make a snugger fit.

All in all I am very pleased with it and would recommend the jacket to all.

Extremely Warm and comfortable jacket. Pockets are quite large can fit a lot of items into them and the jacket folds into a pocket which is neat. Can also adjust the waist and hood area to prevent wind from entering.

Haven't tried it in rain yet but should be ok In light rain wouldn't recommend it in heavy rain.

    Amazing jacket I love it!
I am a L size man but I needed to have the Medium size

Quaity product. It does cost a bit more
Than I wanted to pay. But I can see the quality of it means it will last longer.

Really warm ethical sourcing of down great for Britain’s cold weather

Quality. But was not keen on the colour/finish. Black I ordered, the finish was shiny not Matt so not to my taste. Returned

I absolutely love this jacket. Lightweight, warm and perfect fit makes it the ideal jacket for this winter.

Felt flimsy, poor quality for the price, returned

    Good Fit and Warm

Product is great, amazing quality and very warm, would recommend to anyone looking for a warm coat. However the seller (BIKESTER) printed my address wrong and the product was nearly sent back, in the end I had to go to the depot to collect it myself.

It shows 700 fill power down, but it's a bit thinner...I think. cause this one is just a bit thick than my other down jackets.

Comfy, warm, stylish, light, excellent jacket.
