I’m play to a 9 handicap. I played 27 holes over a 2 day period with these balls. I thought the balls performed like the high end/high dollar balls, we all know who I’m talking about. Distance off the tee wasn’t a problem with the Wilson Duo. I had several drives travel over 280 yards. The Duo ball stopped and held the greens well and felt smooth off the putter. It is without a doubt the softest ball I’ve played. A dozen balls that perform well for under $20 is a steal. I will keep these in my bag from here on.
These are advertised as @ 29 compression and that is reputedly the lowest compression made. Playing with these made me wonder if that is correct. They feel like a higher/harder compression ball sort of like the ProV1X of the Calloway Diablo balls. They were okay, form, fit and function wise, but I sincerely believe the Calloway Supersoft or the Srixon Soft Feel balls are better, feel softer and smoother. They certainly perform as well at the Wilson.
I hit 1 of these that I found and instantly fell in love with it, so I bought a dozen. Im a big Chrome soft fan, but found this ball to perform comparably from a distance and feel standpoint, but I hit it straighter than a Chrome soft. Best of all- less than 1/2 the price of Chrome soft.
I am 62 years old and, had I not spent so much of my adult life sodding about trying to fix broken dogs and cats, feel certain I could have reduced my 18 handicap. I've played Titleist Pro V1s pretty much since they were invented because a) my flawless swing deserves the very best and b) I adore spending more money on lost golf balls during a round than I do the green fee. I recently read a review of the Duo Soft and thought "why not?"
I'm a 13 handicap and just started using these balls after I found one in a used pack that my local range sells. I buy their little packs because I can't justify paying for a dozen ProV1, TP5, or ChromeSoft balls and the packs come with a couple banged up higher end balls. Well, I loved how the Duo Soft played so I bought a sleeve. Played a round and was hooked. Not only do you get a great ball but the confidence you get from looking at a great ball (that's what she said) goes a long way. When I play ProVs I worry about losing them and it blows my concentration. These balls play great and are a great price. 1/2 the price of the other guys means you can play away and leave the worries at home.
Everything about golf is extremely expensive. These balls are one thing I’ve found to help me stomach the occasional golf game. My first impression was honestly not very good. I played in a scramble tournament and I was rather disappointed in my inability to hit the ball well, and I lost half of them. After my second round playing with these I decided the first round was not the balls fault, it was the hangover. The second round went great and I had my lowest score in quite some time. Every aspect of the game the ball reacted very well! I’m extremely happy with the balls and most of all the price!
Bought these balls for my Dad who is 75 but a avid golfer who plays almost daily. He needs a softer ball to get the compression we wants. He has said nothing but good things regarding the quality! He'll be getting more sleeves in the future. Likes them better than the chrome soft.
All of my golf buddies play the balls that they see all over the TV; the ProV1, the TP5, the Chrome Soft. That's nice, but when it's late in the round and the money is on the line, what they fear is the Wilson/Staff Duo Soft Spin.
These hit nice and soft and straight for the novice or the pro. These are among the best choices of balls that you should buy, unless you consider yourself a "professional" level golfer. And be honest with yourself here, you are probably not as good as the pros if you're interested in my amateur review. They won't quite go the distance of a harder "professional" ball, BUT, that is NOT a factor for you unless you can consistently hammer the ball 250 yards straight as an arrow with every tee off. Better to have this softer ball go straight a 100 yards and lose ten yards of straight distance, rather than using a harder ball that gets lost flying sideways a 110 yards. So listen, if you don't know what kind of balls to buy, then this is a very nice performing golf ball for any skill level, especially novice. I have less experience golfing than any of my friends, and I usually keep up with them or do better than them, and it's all because they DON'T use soft golf balls and I DO. But I don't tell them that!! Ha haaa!
Soy un jugador de 10 de HCp y estas pelotas me funcionan muy bien. No amarran, en tiros cortos, igual que las caras pero se acercan.
I play this ball, with senior swing, and has good controll
Buenas pelota, vuelan bien y se amarran en el green.
Good all around golf ball
Y ajustadas de precio
