I have played about 10 rounds with this buggy and so far I love it.

Was close to getting a kangaroo hillcrest when I found the carrytrek buggy. Most walkers at my club use the kangaroo and some have been in service for 15+ years. Took a chance on the Caddytrek as I did not like having to work the remote constantly and the weight of the kangaroo meant I would pretty much be leaving it at the club and would not have access at my other clubs when traveling.

So far so good on my decision to go with the Caddytrek

Pros

1. Follow feature. Love that you really don't need to think about your clubs. Quick push of a button when you stop to take a shot, approach a green or bunker and you are good to go. Buggy will follow you slightly to the left and 2-3 paces behind. Bridges and paths are are easy to navigate. Basically any place you can take an electric cart you can navigate without thinking about the buggy. Just walk on right side of path or bridge and all is good.

2. Size and weight. Folds small enough and is light enough to carry in the trunk of my car. Not something I could have done with the kangaroo. Tip..remember to pull the battery before folding else you will need to unfold to attach to the charger.

3. Battery longevity and power. Easily lasts 18 holes. Climbs steep hills and brakes going down steep hills nicely.

4. If price is an issue, the Caddytrek is $1000 less than the Kangaroo.

Cons

1. I have had it slip climbing a steep hill when it is wet. Walking slightly slower up the hill seemed to resolve this problem.
2. The 5th wheel is critical for use. Don't forget to extend it our you will tip over the buggy.
3. The screw holding the 2 part 5th wheel assemble together failed on first use. Glad I did not loose the spring that is part of this. I recommend replacing this with a longer screw before your first round. No problems since replacing.
4. You don't save a lot of steps with the follow feature. Pretty much need to think of it as a push cart walk to the best place to leave it when teeing off or putting.
5. Controlling as a remote cart as opposed to following takes too much time. Not a fault of the buggy. But.. A pain once you are spoiled by the follow feature.

1 follow feature is fantastic. Follows me across bridge without thinking about it as long as it is wide enough to accommodate a riding cart. Follows slightly left of where you are walking and about 3 paces behind..

The follow me mode worked for nine holes and then stopped. When I tried to get help, they were helpful but then tried to explain how I need to reprogram using my computer. I'm sure it would have been no problem for a tech person, but it sounded confusing to me. I didn't feel like I should have to go through that buying something brand new for that much money. So I spent the time looking for it, using it twice, repacking it, and after all that, the refund was about $400.00 less than what I paid because some scratched on it from using it twice. I guess that was a rental fee. Maybe I should be thankful they gave me anything back.

There is a learning curve but once I figured out the remote control, it does what I direct to. Walking with it in front of you is counter intuitive......you have to angle to the right to get it to turn left when using the ultrasound mode to steer. The remote has to be clipped to your back side belt to use the follow mode....the secondary transmitter that plugs into the remote and wraps around to the back is sold out, which would solve the problem.
Climbs up and down steep hills with ease and locks when stopped so it doesn’t run down the hill in the stop mode. I’m very happy with my unit and have recommended it to several friends.

Once you get the hang of it, it works as advertised, there is a learning curve, the first 18 holes I was thinking about the trolly, I recommend taking it out for 9 in the late afternoon to first get familiar with it, (I did have an eagle while on my first outing though) my ‘cart’ bag was to small for the bungy straps but the bag held on though, my bag kept rotating, great to walk without pushing a trolly, I personally didn’t like the ‘follow’ or ‘march’ features, others might praise them, I use the remote feature, good customer support.

Use it just 4 times and the unit does not respond to the remote and operates very erratic to a point must use as a heave pull cart. The follow function does not work at all and since I paid almost $1,800 the unit is a big disappoint. Bought it for my wife who is a member of a golf league and due to the unstableness no longer trust this unit for obvious reasons. Golf is a concentration sport that a player cannot have distractions and this unit is beyond distraction. I have requested a refund and waiting for their response. Hopefully they do not inflict insult to injury...

Played 16 rounds with the cart so far. Will run for 27/36 holes in good weather with no problems. Works as advertised. The follow-me mode does not work well while walking down hills. You must walk very slowly to keep cart from flipping over. I’m disappointed a seat is not available!

Heavy and the follow me mode isn’t that easy.

I don’t think this is one that should be considered - the idea of it was nice, but overall it’s heavy and I was told by the company / manufacturer that it needs to be on stable solid surface. Most golf courses have some hills, bumps and grassy terrain which defeats the purpose.

To return it- you have to pay the 20% restocking fee! That’s $300 bucks so if I can save anyone some trouble- I would test out these models at a golf pro shop (from other brands) and see if this is actually worth it.

Cart was exactly as described. Works very well and is easy to set up and break down for travel. Is quite compact when folded down. Highly recommend it..

The follow me mode does not work neither does the "marching mode".
Called the factory who advised it was probably the sensors at fault.
They sent new ones which took an hour to install, and still the same problem.
The steering oversteers then swings back making it difficult to control when in RC mode.

We have ended up with a very expensive cart that does not work as advertised.

I really adore using this wonderfull machine. It does exactly what it's suppose to do, let me play golf without the stress of pushing a pull cart but with the pleasure of walking.
The only negative is the fifth wheel fell off and I lost the screw on my 6th game and it's been off since. Can you help me about that?
But otherwise, I am a happy buyer. No regrets.

Great product? Easy to maneuver but folding and unfolding takes a little practice. Would highly recommend the caddytrek to others
