I don't like wool. It makes me itch. The wife told me that this Merino wool was the finest in the world, so I took a chance and bought these. To my surprise they do not make me itch and they are the softest and most lightweight insulated underwear I have ever worn. I bought a size 2x. I wasn't sure how they would fit. I usually wear an xl. They fit fine. Just a little big, but they aren't going to fall down around my knees. By the time I tuck my two other shirts in they will fit fine. they fit fine even with no shirts tucked in. They are oh so comfortable. I am waiting for the temps to get back down in the 10-20 below region, so I can really give them a test. I don't see any problem with them. I tried them on when I got them, and I could feel the warmth already. I would highly recommend them for people that have a hard time with the cold outside that have poor circulation like I do.
The waist line fits well. The length is a problem. They run a bit longer and loose in the length part. Also every time when I bend my knees or crouch down, it feels like the pants are falling off my waist. Also the bottoms have lots of lints inside when received. Definitely not the kind of high quality item I'd refer to.
These are a perfect fit, other than being about 5-6" too long. I am 5'10 and weigh 160lbs. I ordered a medium and it fits well but the length could be easily 5" shorter. As is, there's way too much extra bulk under my pants. I don't put wool in the dryer but I doubt that would take 5" off the length anyway, so I sent them back. I would like to try a small since they are SO well made, but I cannot imagine the small would be 5" shorter and they may be too tight around my legs. I have ordered another brand from Backcountry that's also 100% merino wool and 400gm weight so we'll see if that fits better before I try the small.
Where these all the time for work! They are perfect! You won’t under stand till you buy them and take them for a spin! I also have bought other woolx products for my girlfriend for a sweatshirt. Sent them in email and few days later sent us a brand new sweatshirt with a return label in package of brand new sweatshirt to return the issues I had with the old one! Never questioned me or ask what’s up. Just wanted to make sure the address they were send it to was correct! It’s like having a blanket on my legs! Wish more stores would sell 100% merino wool! All of stores have no idea about merino wool... get with the times ! And stores are over priced ! Buy these you will not be disappointed!! Going be buy the top next season!
Bought the top and bottom for my mid season hunt in Montana. Well made and priced, kept me warm all day. The reason for giving it a 4 star is that its a little too heavy once worn with other layers. Id recommend it if the weight is not an issue for you.
I have been wearing Icebreaker 260 for years and then I discovered these. Warmer and just as comfortable. They are longer than the Icebreaker, and I am short so they end up down around my feet, but that's OK. Better too long than too short.
Purchased along with matching top. Less expensive than other merino long johns I own, but way better. These long johns are the king of them all, by a long shot. You get more. More and better material, better design, and larger fit per size. Longer legs which works for saving your ankles from the cold. Very soft and warm. Merino wool is the best base layer for cold weather in general. A base layer is the first step to staying warm because it's less bulky than an equally warm added outer layer. Nice long johns in general cause me to enjoy winters more and want to do more stuff outside. Inside I can turn the heat down and save the cost of the garment in bills over time.
It did keep me warm under the snow pants that I wore over the base layer. The temperature was -45degrees C and the next day it went down between 5-15 degrees C. Both times, I felt warm.
Super soft, nice quality, did the job.
