Hornady reloading dies represent the finest in machined craftsmanship. Articulated details offer more precise reloading, by offering easier adjustments, better alignment and smoother functioning. With one of the finest internal finishes in the industry, Hornady custom grade and match grade dies provide a lifetime of reloading. They're so well crafted that they're guaranteed never to break or wear out from normal use. The zip spindle design on all full length size dies positively locks to eliminate slippage. A Series of light threads cut on both the spindle and spindle collet allows you to make incremental adjustments by turning the spindle or you can easily "zip it" up or down for larger movements. Internal Die profile is precision machined and polished to a smooth finish that delivers reliable functioning without case sticking or excessive friction. The Hornady sure-lock lock rings clamp around the entire Die applying constant pressure across the threads to hold the ring in place. The locking screw tightens the ring without ever coming into contact with the threads, eliminating possible damage from pliers. Superior to "ball expanders," this Hornady exclusive provides extremely smooth neck sizing and significantly reduces friction and case neck stretch. Internal threading prevents it from pulling loose and the Elliptical expander also eliminates the need for a separate expander Die for necking-up to the next caliber. Seater adjustment screw easily adjusts for bullet seating depths. Locking retainer spring removes in seconds for easy disassembly and cleaning of the Die. Our seating system holds the bullet, the case neck and the seating stem in perfect alignment in the sleeve before the bullet enters the neck of the case. The system includes a floating bullet alignment sleeve, a floating steel seating stem and a built-in crimper for bench rest precision. Bullets are aligned in the sleeve as they enter the Die for optimum seating and enhanced accuracy.

I use the seating die with the Hornady Microjust seating stem. Both dies are used in my hand held press.

When I first starting loading this cartridge, I couldn't find a Lee Factory Crimp for it. So I used a .458 express die and crimped the cartridge from the top of the die. Seems to work. Anyway, that got me started with the hand press on this cartridge.

I also use Lee and Redding dies. One thing I like about the Hornady dies for this application is the locking ring. When tightened it stays set. As I'm using it on a hand press, I'm changing dies a lot. (The other dies I use on a progressive and bullet swaging press)

Outstanding as usual.

These dies are great. Had a set of new Lee dies that where out of spec and stuck every case no matter what lube or how much was applied. With this set of dies no problems at all cases are shaped perfectly

Well made, cases chambered reliably when seated only and uncrimped. 4 stars because the crimp feature of seater die over-crimped causing shoulder bulge on initial batch. Best and only crimp die suited for this round is the Lee.

Excellent product i reloaded 600 RNDS so far no problems at all FYI get the crimping die too!!

Hornady makes a good set of 458 SOCOM dies. One warning: case lube the outside of the case and inside of the neck before running them through the resize die!

Worked fine, had to contact Hornady with a warranty issue they sent the part immediatly and I was back to reloading. Very Satisfied.

Good value for the money. Brass sizes fine. Make sure to use lots of lube! I ruined a Redding die with too little case lube.

Hornady dies are a step above the rest in my opinion.

I've used Lee, RCBS and redding before. Hornady are easy to set, easy to work, and i know that they'll stay set because of the lock ring. Easily replaceable decapping pins are a great addition, and something that I recommend to have on hand "just in case". I haven't been disappointed with hornady dies, mostly due to the price vs quality. I know that Lee dies work well but occasionally found myself struggling, or having to double check because they would work themselves loose (in before someone tells me I just don't know what i'm doing). For only a little more hornady works great.
