The SKYRIDGE Tech Messenger Bag is a single shoulder strap pack, and has a fully loop-lined rear CCW compartment. The front organizer compartment has a magnetic and zippered closures. The main compartment has numerous pockets, sleeves, and elastic loops for excellent organization. There is a dedicated 13.3" laptop compartment and a padded tablet sleeve. The shoulder strap includes a curved shoulder pad and pivoting strap connections. The overall volume of the pack is 760 cubic inches (12.5 liters).
I love how much room this bag has on the inside. There are a lot of little organizers and pockets that keeps it free of clutter so that I can even keep an extra jacket rolled up in there. The strap itself was really comfortable and the quick release buckle made it really easy to take off and put on. My favorite feature of this bag was the magnetic straps and key lanyard that made it really convenient for me to grab things out quickly and silently. I really wanted to like this bag... But there were a couple of problems that ultimately made me return it. The first problem with the bag was the fact that it was heavy. This thing weighs almost the same as my Timbuk2 messenger but, that bag has nearly double the storage capacity. My second issue is that this bag simply cannot stand up on it's own. It always falls flat on it's face because the CCW portion of the bag is stiff while the rest of the bag is limp. Unless I stuck something along the bottom portion of the bag it will fall (and even if I do it will eventually jossle out of place as I move and it will fail to stand up anyways). And my last gripe with the bag is the zippers, they're simply not smooth enough and they always get caught on the inside of the bag or around the contours and it made it a hassle to open everytime. A messenger style bag's only advantage over a backpack is that you can access your things on the go and this bag simply fails to do that. This bag focused a lot on the CCW pocket and it seems counterintuitive that they would make it hard to reach into that pocket...
I have been using this bag for several months now and it has one major short coming that makes it a complete failure for me. Warning!!! You can not open this bag unless you take it off and lay it flat. A messenger bag is all about being on the go and having easy access to the compartments, this is not the case with this bag. There is plenty of good to say about the bag, but the fact that it is simply unusable when you are in motion makes it a non-starter.
Love all the features of the bag, but it would have been better if it was just slightly bigger! May have to order the next size.
