Forget those cheap smokers. Drop the extra $ now and buy this smoker. It will last you years, meaning it's cheaper in the long run. Those cheap ones on here will last you a few months if you are lucky. This is the smoker the commercial and serious hobbyists in my club use. After buying and using it, I now know why. My old ones, the cheap ones I mentioned, went into the recycling bin.

This does NOT measure 4 in diameter by 7 inches tall! It is over 5 inches diameter by nearly 13 inches tall! I ordered this size so it would fit in my smoker box on the pickup. Not happy! You'd think that for over $50 per unit they could afford a tape measure for crying out loud.

Just getting back into Bee Keeping and had to re-equipped everything and to compare this to the older one I had I would not pass up on having one like this. The seconds time I used it I reached down to pick it up the way I use to and the guard cage reminded me of how I got burnt before. I would recommend this to others. I also recommend Mann Lake for other products

Very good product.
I like the heat guard as I usually work with only one glove and
it would be easy to burn my hand on the hot unit.
The below works well, the unit is not too heavy and quite sturdy.
Good value.

Good smoker.... But don't leave it out in the sun for any amount of time because the bellows will dry rot and fail.

Could have gotten it cheaper by ordering directly from Mann lake. My bad.

Once i got the hang of how to get it going, it works very well. although the bees have been pretty calm so far, so although i light it just in case, i don't often smoke the bees

Bought as a Mother's Day gift. Reportedly works great. She did say it took a bit to learn how much fuel to use. Evidently, it's not good to run out of smoke when handling the bees.

I bought this as a Christmas present and feel kind of embarrassed to hand it over really. As you can see from the pictures this product is of very poor build quality as though someone knocked it up in their shed; Rivet heads not flush, sharp edges not removed, scratches on the smoke chamber and a flimsy hinge. As a sheet metal worker myself, I would be disappointed if I had made a product of this build quality. Some may find this not an issue, but I found it quite amateur that it didn't come in a manufacturers box or have any manuals included, it was just wrapped in bubble wrap and put inside a regular brown cardboard box. Also the dimensions given of 7" x 4" diameter is just the smoke chamber, the total length being just over 12" and width of 10" including the bellows.
As it is a present I haven't used it, so have no idea how good it is at what it was designed for. Hopefully it works well and takes some attention off the poor build quality.
