Make Life an Adventure!
So, first you should know that I have mostly always viewed socks as a place where I could go cheap. I had some dollar amount in my mind as "this is how much socks should be" and I just refused to cross it. But last year a person selling me hiking boots explained the logic of buying a slightly too large boot and filling the space with cushiness, so I bought a pair of Darn Tough socks with a little padding. And those were nice, you know, but they were a bit shorter than I might have liked, and not super soft, and not super squishy. So, I must have caught myself at the right moment to let this pricier sock purchase happen. But you know what? I am a changed persin, and this Cloudline sock is what did it.
I ordered three pairs of the CloudLine Merino Wool Crew Hiking & Trekking Socks. I selected pink, green and orange in my correct t size according to their sizing chart. I was not near the edge of the sizing but right in the middle of the numbers so the socks should've fit perfectly. Ugh! Not so. These socks have a nice feel and are certainly medium weight with nice contrasting colors. However, after that, they were a total waste of my money. Unless I managed to somehow get three pairs of blems, these socks fit horribly. When the socks arrived newly packaged the calf openings appeared maybe a little big visually (like they were stretched out) but the ankle and foot area appeared normal and I thought it was just my imagination. I tried them all on and hiked a bit in them before washing and they felt a little loose but certainly comfortable with a nice feel on my skin. I thought that perhaps after washing they might feel just right. So, I wore each pair before and after washing with utter disappointment. Every time I remove my shoe the entire sock comes off with it because they are just too loose. When I tug my pants down over my ankles the same thing happens. These socks are so loose in the foot, ankle and calf that any movement by clothing or shoes over them results in them sliding off. I walk and/or hike 6-10 miles daily and have never had such poor fitting socks when I paid such a premium. I wear a mens size 7.5 wide shoe or a Womens 9 - 9.5 wide shoe so I ordered the socks in medium size. Even though I ordered exactly the right size perhaps the youth/kids would have fit better. I'll never know because I will never purchase this brand again. I rarely if ever give negative reviews for items on Amazon because I usually do so much research I am so rarely disappointed with my purchases. CloudLine Merino Wool Crew Hiking & Trekking Socks are the exception here and I'd definitely make sure you're 100% happy when you just look at them and as you pull them on before trying them out or upon washing them. That way, you can return them. I just couldn't believe after the price and the reviews they could be so bad. My mistake for taking the chance on wearing them hiking and then washing them with the hopes of improving their fit.
My first pair of wool socks. Never had wool socks before because, well, it's wool. Boy was I surprised when I opened the package and felt how soft and thick these socks were. My feet get cold easily so I wanted to give these a try. I put them on and they were super comfortable. Was able to pull them up almost to my knee, but they do sag down somewhat, but they are crew socks, so not a problem. They are quite expensive, and I have yet to wear them outdoors for significant time, but if they do the job and keep my feet warm and hold up well in washings, I will buy more. I am women's size 8 and bought the medium sized socks, they fit well, neither too tight, nor too loose.
CloudLine Merino Wool Crew Hiking & Trekking Socks - Medium Cushion - Large Midnight Black - for Men & Women I have been wearing Thorlo socks for years but after reading the reviews here I thought I'd try these socks. I am so glad I did; they're fantastic! I just recently purchased them so I can't speak to their durability but in terms of comfort they are excellent. I wear a men's wide 9-1/2 shoe and the "large" size fits perfectly. They are a bit thinner under the heel and toe than my Thorlos were (at least originally) but they still have plenty of cushioning and they are without question warmer.
i was looking for a good pair of socks for my weekend camping/hiking trip. Something to keep my feet warm and not overheat them or cause blisters. I’d read the reviews on these, a pair that wouldn’t break the bank and decided to give them a try. Glad I did, seems I have a natural ability to plan my camping trips for some of the coldest weather in Florida. With nighttime temps in the 20’s (granted that’s nothing for folks in the mountains or way up north but down here that’s cold!) I still didn’t have an issue with cold feet. I hiked about 14 miles all told that weekend, in then out and didn’t have any sore or raw spots either so a definite twofer. When you get these socks they’ll look a little snug, like they might be a bit to small but order them true to your size and they’ll fit you well. I’ll be getting another pair soon I’m sure.
These are very comfortable socks that provide excellent warmth and comfort for both hiking and everyday use. Washed in the machine on a woollens program with a wool detergent they are wearing well after a few months of use and should last for a year or more with regular use if cared for appropriately. The wool is very slightly coarser than when new and there has been some very slight shrinkage, for which I have deducted one star, but overall this is a very good product, warm, comfortable and hard wearing. Recommended.
Good socks with a nice thick padded feel.
Size XL is a great fit I’m a size 14 and very comfortable and breathable
Super comfy. Fit as expected. No blisters after a walk invthecRwandan jungle!!
Great choice for a medium weight sock. Even when it gets warm the sock doesn't feel uncomfortable (like other similar weight/thickness of socks). I was on my feet for hours wearing these and was very comfortable.
Really like these. they're slightly thick but not overly thick. they do help warm my feet that are always cold during winter months. they really do wick the sweat which is what keep my feet cold in common type socks.
Unos calcetines de lana que van muy cómodos y transpiran muy bien. lo uso para calzado de botas de seguridad y van de lujo. Muy contento con la compra 100% recomendables.
