Merino wool is where it's at in this soft, itch free sock. Merino wool adds warmth and is naturally thermo regulating. Proudly made in the USA these medium weight Crew socks are natural moisture wicking, warmth, termalined, wick dry technology - what more is there?
I compared the exact same style of Fox River socks that I purchased 10 years ago in 2008 while at Camp Victory in Kuwait, waiting to head north to FOB Properity in Iraq. The black socks on the right were purchased over ten years ago. They are in perfect workable and wearable condition. The sock material is intact with zero wear in the heel or toe box. The elastic sock ribbing has retained its stretch and does not allow the sock to fall down.
These socks have a thick cushion for the foot area and provide a very good fit. Like the synthetic blend as these wick away sweat and do a lot to prevent blisters. Over the years the Fox River socks have outlasted other brands 3 or 4 to 1 and these look like they will have the same exceptional durability.
I love these socks! I keep a half-dozen pairs on hand, since these are daily wear for me, 365 days per year. The only reason I would not give them 5 stars is that they gradually tighten up (shrink) the more times you wash them. They hold up so well, I have not been able to wear a pair out, but after about 6 months I toss them since they have gotten a little too snug.
These socks are the greatest. I have a nerve problem in one foot and these are the only socks that cushion it sufficiently. Fit and comfort are great. The only slightly negative comment is that they do tend to wear more easily than I would like, but them I wear them constantly.
I haven't put these socks to the test but they are comfortable and a good value. Also, these are more of a thick cold weather sock.
Great sock, so far. Great for winter wear.
these ARE the most awesome socks ever in the history of mankind.
Very thick and warm / comes to midcalf. Great for cold weather.
These are my second pair of Fox River socks and I find that Fox River socks tend run a little bigger. I'm usually a size 8 and I bought size medium for these socks and I could probably do a size smaller. There's a lot of extra room (like the heel goes up the back of my ankle pretty high when I'm putting boots on) and they aren't very snug, definitely fit on the looser side. Maybe they aren't supposed to be snug though, I'm not sure. I bought them to wear with my boots and for around the house and to wear to bed on cold nights. They are warm even when damp and not itchy or uncomfortable at all. Lots of cushion all round and they stay up well while wearing my boots. They come up to about mid calf on me (I'm 5'6") and are a lot taller than I was expecting which is fine cause I was wanting to also get a pair of taller socks so now I just need to find a shorter pair.
These are amazing.
I got these for everyday usage, to replace the cheap socks I was wearing before. These are more comfortable and warmer. The amount of wool in the blend is less than some comparable socks, but I actually like how that feels on my feet.
These are the best socks you can buy. Comfortable, the never stink after multiple wears and they last forever; I was gifted a pair in 2006 and I'm still wearing them after numerous Rocky Mountain hikes. I wear them hiking and as my every day casual sock. MEC stopped stocking them so I've had to look elsewhere. They're actually cheaper on here than they used to be at MEC and I got them delivered in 2 days. Can't beat it!
Definitely lost some stretch after the first few washings. Also faded badly. STOL. Sturdy and warm which is key.
Très épais et confortable !
Soft, thick and comfy. I will buy more.
Have used these socks for years. Keep feet warm, don't stretch too much and durable
Comfortable Winter sox
I have about 10 pairs of those. They are the best socks for winter. Warm and comfortable, they will keep your feet dry.
