The puukko knife is a Finnish general purpose knife with a curved cutting edge and a flat back. It is deeply rooted in Scandinavian countries where the knife is both a tool and art form. Puukko knives have been coveted for their simplicity and great looks as much as their functionality. A puukko is a great multi-purpose tool that you can use to cut food, carve things, or clean game and fish. The Puukko knife is the workhorse of the bushcraft world. This is why The Hidden Woodsmen teamed up with L.T. Wright to bring you one of the best knives out there. These knives are made exclusively for The Hidden Woodsmen with our logo laser etched right on the blade.

I'm an enthusiast of LT Wright knives in general. It's great that an experienced outdoorsman like The Hidden Woodsman put his design out there and with such a reputable company. It's match made in heaven: it's the PERFECT scandi bushcraft knife.

In comparison, think of this as a Mora Garberg, but on steroids. It fits the sweet spot of being an agile wood carving knife that can do double duty for slightly heavier tasks. This statement is with a caveat of being within reason: obviously you're not going to use this for a chopper or a heavy duty survival knife. For a woods-craft blade however it's perfect.

In particular I love the steel: this is my first AEB-L knife and the heat treat is solid. It performs as well as O1 yet is stainless enough where I don't have to worry about it rusting up here in the damp New England states where I take it to. Rusting so far is not an issue. It's nice having a knife that can take a little abuse and not have to be babied every day.

I also have to give a shout out to the handle. Really, it's fantastic. It fits in my hand perfectly and even my roommate who had huge hands, much bigger than my own medium sized mitts, commented on how much he loved the handle. It hard to explain but it just feels like the handle melts in my grip and holding it is awesome. To date, I've never had a better feeling handle then on my LT Wright blades and this handle is not an exception.

I'm also in love with the 90 degree spine. It adds to the versatility of the knife a 100% and I really can't imagine owning a woods-themed blade without it.

I hope to someday meet both the knife designer and LT Wright so I can thank them personally for this really fantastic knife in my collection. I know I'll never trade it or give it away. It's going to be my go-to knife as part of my kit: fitting the niche of an agile scandi-carving woods knife that excels in finer tasks but can be put through it's paces for some abuse.

NO SHEATH?! So I absolutely love the knife but was disappointed that it came with no sheath. It’s my fault, the description plainly states that it doesn’t come with one, just wish that it had.

Excellent knife. Great quality and a limited run.
