Need something small, tough, and bright at a price that won't force you to survive on top ramen for a month? It's hard to go wrong with any of Fenix's current lineup. This little guy is lightweight, features four brightness settings, strobe, and SOS modes. It turns on with a simple tailcap button that can be lightly held for momentary use or clicked down for continuous use. The box comes with the light, a strap, a clip, and a pouch, giving you many ways to pack it or carry it. If you want to mount it onto something (like a bicycle or your favorite home defense gun), you'll need to look for the appropriate mounting solution to fit your needs.
Bright and the various power 'levels' are very handy. Lithium batteries means not having to worry much about batteries dying in storage. I'll probably buy a couple more of these to leave in vehicles.
I am a licensed heating/ac contractor and a residential heating/ac consultant. I find myself in crawlspaces and basements pretty much every working day. When considering a portable work light like this, I have to assume I'll be cycling the on-off switch 20-30 times a day and needing to get excellent, but not over-bright illumination in unlit interior spaces from 6" away up to about 40 feet distant. Battery life is extremely important as well as being able to conveniently clip the light to my hat if necessary and hold it in my teeth if I have to. The unit has to be dirt and waterproof to ordinary crawlspace dirt/water conditions.
I own a PD30, a PD 31, and this PD 32. I carry the PD 32 everyday now. Although I like the PD 30 because of its narrow diameter, it is limited to cr123 disposable batteries. I decided to go with the PD 31 because of the option to use a rechargeable battery. I recently upgraded to the PD 32 because it offers the same option and produces a brighter beam without much of an increase in size. It has been reliable with different, but easily accessible beam adjustment. This model may be the best compromise between size and brightness for an every day carry option. The PD 35 which I do not own, is much brighter, but longer in length, making it a less practical pocket carry flashlight for me.
Bought this to replace the old model that stopped working after great usuals for many years. This one works great also and very bright.
This is the perfect EDC light. It's not too small nor too big. The adjustable settings are perfect for doing things around the house or checking for bad guys/zombies/bigfoot. It seems really well made too. I plan on buying more from Fenix. I don't need to pay 3 times for a light that has less features and is just as good.
trust me, buy it. There is none better in its class for specs and features. Ive done all the research. unless you need a lot more lumens, this is the one. the side button save you a lot of taps on the tail switch to find your common setting.
Holy Cow, this thing is bright.....It comes with extra batteries. I will order another.
