This mic works great and seems durable. Works well with Baofeng UV-82, but just bear in mind that this is single PTT only. The UV-82 has dual PTT-meaning you can transmit on two different channels depending on which transmit button you hit. This mic will only work on Chanel B. If you have the radio turned to Chanel A and press the transmit button on the mic, it will move to Chanel B and transmit there. Otherwise, this seems durable, and it fits very snug into the jack and does not wiggle around. The mic clip is also nice as it is easily adjustable. If I needed another shoulder mic I would buy this again.
I just got this product not to long ago. My first impression out of the box was here we go again another cheap speaker mic that I paid a lot for. (I was impressed though I live in jersey and I got regular shipping and it came the next day at 9am very impressive) However on closer inspection I saw that the the wire going into the speaker mic and the radio was reinforced. I then test out my audio with two radio I set one up in the living room and in my room I was using it in my room and I couldn’t even hear a difference it sounded amazing! Later on another ham radio buddy confirmed this while I was using a repeater. The only other thing that caught my attention was the audio jack at first seems to small to fit however you just have to really push down and Vice versa for taking it out. The only fault I could was in the curling of the wire they kind of looked weird (see image attached) but nothing was harmed it was a result of the packaging. Overall it’s a great speaker mic and it’s really nothing fancy just plug in and go!
I use my QHM22 mic nearly every day with my BF-F8HP. I get excellent audio reports from other Hams in my area.
This speaker mic provides beautiful crisp, strong, communications audio on both TX and RX with my MD-390 DMR radio. I am impressed. I was a little apprehensive about this speaker mic because of a very bad experience I had with a different brand SM.
BaoFeng QHM22 Platinum Series IP54 Rainproof Shoulder Speaker Mic for BaoFeng:
Searched Amazon for a 2.5 mm plug headset and this piped up with many. I was concerned to have it be here for my next work day and ordered this one due to the fastest shipping time. When I received it , it was a 3.5mm. I then proceeded to just use the tube to put on my old headset and the connection broke. Was able to salvage the tube but the headset is broken.
I love this mic. Being able to attach my HT radio to by bag and still still use the radio is great. In fact I ordered another to use with my 2nd radio. This mic is a lot better than the first one I purchased. I suggest that you skip the cheap mic and purchase this one instead.
Awesome. I have a pair of Honeywell electronic ear muffs that I ran this with for airsoft. With a two way headphone jack running from the speaker-mic to the earmuffs you can hear the ambient noise until someone talks perfectly. The clip holds pretty well and I was able to weave everything into my chest rig so that it didn't get caught on anything. Can't complain.
