I bought this to use for Strava Live Segments. After a week of struggling with its arcane documentation it still doesn’t work. It needed a 3-hour software upgrade right out of the box, and another one today. The documentation is severely lacking about Strava Segments. The text of the help files does not match the selections available on the device’s menus. Following the instructions as best as one can, a dozen times, does not produce results. Still not able to load Strava Segments into the device. The Segments are there on Strava, and Garmin’s phone app, Garmin Connect, can see the Segments, but the device can’t. The instructions frequently refer to Garmin Connect but is not clear whether that refers to the app or to Garmin’s website of the same name. My advice is not to use the Garmin Edge 520 Plus for Strava Live Segments.

Previous owner of a garmin 500 and loved it!!! However, started having issues with it and figured it was time to upgrade. Really debated between the Wahoo Element Bolt and the 520 plus. I finally picked the 520 because of my great experience with the 500 and the fact that the 520 had trailforks. One of the features that I was really looking forward to was uploading my rides from the garmin directly to garmin connect and I am currently very disappointed. Continue to get upload fail. Have searched the web and this appears to be a common problem for IOS devices and you can go through various procedures to try to fix it, but it doesn't always maintain the fix. Makes me wonder if I should have gone with the Wahoo Element. Hopefully this is something that is fixed by Garmin. If so it would definitely up my rating.

I cannot say enough about this bike computer. If you're on the fence on which bike computer to get, just buy this model. Routing on Roads is easy and very good and the Trailforks app is sweet. A friend of mine has the older 520 device and I can say the 520 plus is a huge upgrade and very much worth the extra. I bike 3-5 times per week and love how great this device works. Battery life is really good as well, did an 8+ hour ride and the battery was still at 65%. Also works great with the HR monitor I got from Amazon with the name - CooSpo Fitness Tracker Ant+ Heart Rate Monitor Chest Strap IP67 Waterproof with Bluetooth for Wahoo Strava Zwift.

Garmin for the car I hated. This garmin for the bike - I love. It's helping me increase my speed and improve my average cadence. Easy upload to Strava and/or Ride with GPS. Loading a route (e.g. TCX file) should be easier but it's not too bad once you get used to it. Garmin website help is lacking but youtube has the answer for most questions. Very happy with this purchase. Well worth the money.

This is a great little Garmin for cycling, I had a Garmin Edge 500 but this one is years advanced and has mapping . I have only been using it for a couple weeks and it is pretty technical but even an old guy like me can figure it out with a little help from Youtube and tech support. Used it on an organized ride Rise For Autism - Ride2theBeach and it did not get me lost. .

I use this exclusively for mountain biking. It works well with Trailforks and you can download the MTB trail maps from Pinkbike/Trailforks. It is great to load a route from Strava or Trailforks when going to unfamiliar trail systems. You can follow the purple line on the map and avoid the need to stop at every intersection to look at a map. The MTB turn-by-turn instructions don't work well though. Most of the time it tells me to do a U-turn at each point, but it is easy enough to follow the line on the map. Sometimes the turn instructions do work, which is nice. The unit is very secure with the included mount and it has never come off. Battery life has been good - I would estimate ~10 hours when using navigation, a bit longer if not navigating. This is my first GPS bike computer and I'm very happy with it.

The device did not pair with my iPhone with Bluetooth after following the Gamin's instruction. Garmin is not much help but Amazon's product help was very helpful. The solution was simple. I needed to reset the Garmin by pressing the power button for 10 second from powered on state. After that, suddenly started working!

Seems reliable so far no complaints. Battery life is good due to me having sounds off, brightness at 50%, haven’t had it die on me yet. I normally do quite a few rides before I have to charge it again. It also came with the front edge mount as well as the mount that has the rubber attachments. I was not aware and ordered to mountain bike mount, which is what I ended up using with my short stem.

Look at the picture. Good device but manufacture defect: the mounting point broke! Got it 2 months ago wow...

El primero que me enviaron no funcionaba, no se conectaba a garmin Connect, pedí el cambio y no tuve ningún problema con ese. Todo ha funcionado excelente, tengo cerca de 6 meses de usarlo

Did a lot of research for a GPS bike computer and this one is way better than I anticipated. Love it and recommend it for any beginner or avid cyclist.

i tried the product for my last bike ride . It is so easy to use.

Works great, lots of features, accurate and solid connection to all other sensors (cadence, speed and power)

Great improvement on the old 520 but no touch screen. Map function is colour and.easy to use.

Third Garmin. Previous model placed on my wife's bike. Enjoying the options.

Excelente producto, muy bueno y si le descargas todos los mapas funcional más que bien.

Great gps , haven’t figured everything out that it can do, so far I’m very pleased.

Se desconfigura mucho al pasar los datos a Garmin Mobile

Nice device, good screen
