I have a set of more expensive (Leki) Nordic walking sticks that I love but wanted something easy to take with me when I travel. So glad I found these! They're not tiny when they're folded, but fit in my carry-on bag so I can bring them on my frequent business trips. Since I'm a short, fat woman, I worried about them collapsing while I was walking, but I've had no problems with them changing length once they're adjusted. They adjust quickly, the carrying bag has a little pouch for spare pieces. Well worth the price!
First off - I have not yet used the product. I originally ordered two pairs of walking poles. Neither were short enough for me. I researched online and found this set. I watched the video on this product which showed me what position my arms need to be in. I then ordered this set along with another sets for short people. The other I order was longer and heavier.
Product is great, just like it is described. The poles seem to be sturdy enough, well made and easy to set up. I was kind of lured into buying by seeing videos of experienced Nordic pole walkers and it looks so effortless - but sadly it is not, at least for me. I've only given it three tries so far in my neighborhood so I'm not giving up yet but it is a little clunky and not a smooth stride. The videos say not to give up if you get off to rocky start so I'm going to keep at it and hope it becomes more natural.
Great portability for flight or checked luggage and easily adjustable for my 5'1" height. They feel a little less substantial than my Leki carbon poles, but sturdier than I'd expected for the price. Clear instructions with photos included. Satisfied after two hour long treks in Arlington, MA. The only problem was the sections of one pole separated and its foot/paw came loose when it got caught in the spaces on a section of brick walk. Easily reconnected. I'll update after I've used them on more walks on my travels.
This is my fourth set of walking poles over recent years, and it's the best I've found yet. It's a good length, quite easy to adjust, and by far the most convenient for travel. It's lightweight, and the carrying bag is great. I'm happy to recommend it!
Thank you for making a product that gave me a lot of my life beck. I have a payload lef from the knee down and developed a painful debilitating disease following the paralysis. Wheelchair bound. Now I'm walking with my York Shaorter length trek poles. I am even able or wal on sand with the pole baskets included. The hand grips unclip from the pole and can stay on your hands until you need the poles again. They unclip and break down to about 18" and lock securely that way until you ready to use them they are far more stable than any cane, walker, scooter etc.... Than I have used in the past. And a nice feature is they look and are athletic. It changes the way you feel about using a mobility aid and it changes how other people see you. These things rock, I cannot say enough good about them. Thank you York Nordic.
I took these on a cruise. They fit easily in my suitcase for air travel. When we went on our excursions they were in my little daypack and there when I needed them. One bad knee and I could pop them out easily when the terrain was difficult for me. Also being able to adjust the height was helpful to use as a cane when I needed them for a big step up or down. I love them overall. Only negative was sometimes I needed to tighten the screw to keep the pole at the length I selected.
Used them this weekend for the first time. I don't like the fact you have to attach the
These are just what I need. I recently had both hip joints replaced simultaneously, so a cane on one side would leave the other side unsupported. A walker is awkward to maneuver and makes you hunch over. Walking poles let me walk naturally and comfortably, so I am healing faster and able to go for proper walks outside. York poles are well-made and reasonably priced, and they answered questions promptly and helpfully. I recommend them.
These poles are a great investment! I just started Nordic walking with them and after watching a few instruction videos, I am out and enjoying my Nordic walking. I've been taking a daily walk for years, and this really ramps up the health benefits because of the use of the arms. I also find it improves my posture. I recommend these poles which I consider very reasonably priced.
I am using the poles even thought they are a little too long for me. I am 5'2" and they adjust for taller but not shorter. They would be perfect if they were two inches shorter. But I like the way they fold. I can stick them in my purse if I need to or my shopping cart.
They are so light weight. The bag fit in my suitcase and my backpack, Easy and fast to open and close. Sturdy and strong. Couldnt have wanted better
These are so lightweight and compact. They fit nicely into my day backpack. I am looking forward to taking them with me on my next hiking adventure.
Love my new trekking poles. Sturdy, light, easy to use. Just remember that this type of pole will come apart if it sinks into soft ground. It has happened to me several times; doesn't break, but does separate. But, perfect to fit into my backpack & for travel.
Totally satisfied with my York Nordic walking sticks! Shipped efficiently and on time. I am enjoying them and they have allowed me to get out to walk with a more secure feeling and I would highly recommend them to my friends.~ Raymona from New Brunswick, Canada
