Trekking poles and hiking staffs are indispensable tools to casual walkers and serious hikers, backpackers, and mountaineers alike. Fully adjustable, shorten the poles on the fly using the simple twist lock to more easily make your uphill climbs. And for downhill? Just add some length to aid your descent. While they require more use of the arms, utilizing poles or a staff more evenly redistributes weight throughout the body and allows for increased hiking endurance. What's more, the shock-absorbing internal spring eases wear on weak or damaged ankles, knees and hips.
A single lightweight pole weighs.75 lbs. and is 43" long when fully extended, and the telescoping design retracts all the way down to 20" to easily fit backpacks of many shapes and sizes. When used as a pair of trekking poles, the ergonomic plastic grip couldn't be more comfortable, but also features a flared top that allows each pole to also be used as a single hiking staff. Each pole also features a secondary soft foam grip, and can be secured with a sturdy, adjustable wrist strap.
The black carbonite tip is ideal for rough, craggy terrain and can also function as an ice spike. Also included is a vulcanized rubber foot ideal for hard surfaces and asphalt. Finally, an optional snow tip can be screwed onto the tip to prevent the stick from sinking too deeply into soft surfaces..
Seems to be holding up so far after a few hikes. Stays tight after adjusting and have not had it work loose after walking. Only awkward part is the retaining strap on handle, I would put the strap on the other side. Care must be taken if you are hiking with the extra rubber tips on the end, they might slip off and get lost. I would just take them off unless you really need them, just dont rely on them staying on!
I admit, I might have been a little hard on it, but I think it was just junk, it fell apart. I wanted to use it as a collapsible 'handy stick' for training horses.
I was pretty disappointed with this. Both bottom bit broke off during my first hike with it. The black paint also scratched off during that hike. Collapsing it was difficult, and getting it back out to its full length was difficult too. I was happy that it didn't unintentionally collapse during my hike. I was afraid that may happen if I pressed down on it too hard, but that the only pro to this.
First time out with it and the lower portion bent like a twig. Caused me to fall forward and get cut up. I have another one that I've had for a long time and never let me down. Please don't buy this one.
This bent the first time I used it, and the telescoping parts came apart when I adjusted it to the full length. I ended up using a stick I found in the woods to use in place of this walking stick. Don't waste your money on this item, it is a poorly made product.
I didn't like this product. Beware that there is only 1 pole. I thought I was buying 2 as it is about the same price for 2 from other sellers.
Everytime I take a walk
Lose a lot of these and was skeptical about low price for this one. Turned out to be as good as any walking stick I've owned. Great value.
I bought this pole to see how well it performed as a cheap pole. I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that for gentle rolling terrain it seems to do an excellent job. However with my first hike on extreme trails it prove to be somewhat lacking in durability. a 220 lb. person with a 40lb. pack on steep hills covered with rocks and snow were a little too much for it. It ended up with some mild bends in it, not enough that it is no longer serviceable but such that it is no longer retractable. Still for the price, if you're not going to expect it to be of the same quality as a more expensive pole it's an acceptable pole.
If you are thinking about taking this on a trip, look for another option, this pole is a bit heavy. I am going to return it.
Me gusta mucho q tenga amortiguación muy ligero y resistente
Call me a dummy, but I thought I was buying two poles. So I had to order a second one, and these are not really suitable for winter use as the baskets are very small. Oh well.
i got these for trekking a few mountains in the Everest region, including base camp. They help save my keens and a few falls that could have been much worse.. at one point one of the poles bend, but was easy to fix. Excellent value for price.
Lo que necesitaba, también su guarda es muy práctica
Excellent product for the price point. Although not as lightweight and durable as some of the higher end models, it's a perfect hiking pole for casual excursions and everyday use such as neighborhood walking trails.
Very good for the price
Sturdy and a great hiking pole for the price.
