These are my favorite poles and are for all sexes, not just women. I just bought a second pair for a gift. I have many miles on mine including hiking a couple of months ago in Bhutan. They are strong and highly adjustable .. The Black Diamond levers lock so they don't slip. They used to be called compact poles and are for people who are on the short side of tall. Although they are not carbon, they are light because all the shafts are shorter. The weight per pole is 8 ounces.
I've used this model of hiking poles since 2014. I've relied on them through some dicey, rocky terrain and tough fords and they've never let me down. Sadly, my old beat-up poles were stolen recently (why?!). They were still going strong after 5 years of heavy use and abuse so I bought the same model. With the exception of an upgrade to the locking mechanism, these are the same poles I've used and loved for 5 years. What a relief. Thanks Black Diamond for keeping a good thing going!
Everything you could want in basic, functional trekking poles: Lightweight, pack down small, easy to adjust on the fly, comfortable adjustable straps. The extended grip is useful for quick hand adjustments on varying terrain. Although these are labeled as women's poles, they're really just a slightly shorter, lighter version of the regular Trail pole. The blue color is, thankfully, not the usual pink or purple that gear companies seem to think all adult women want and makes these poles appeal to a person of any gender who is of average height or below.
Lightweight and compact. Don't be fooled by the gender label. They are sturdy, come in a gender neutral color, and I'm just shy of 6 feet and these are tall enough for me! I have already used them on multiple 10+ mile hikes with pretty steep elevation change. I'll be using them for the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike in 2 weeks.
I go hiking mainly on the weekends. Bought these poles because my knees were giving me problems going down hill. I couldn't be happier with these poles. I've taken them on several hikes of around 7miles each. They are comfortable and easy to adjust. They take a lot of pressure off my knees on the downhill and make it much easier going uphill too. They are a game changer for how good I feel after hiking. I plan on taking these on a backpacking trip later this year. I debated buying trekking poles for a long time and I am super happy I bought these ones. I have recommended them to friends and family.
I am so thankful I found these. I have had them about 3 weeks, and I use them everyday. I read many reviews of other products before I purchased these sticks. I have arthritis in my feet so I am unsteady when I walk. I did not want to start using a cane because they look so uncomfortable. I like to keep my posture straight.
Locking mechanisms work well. They are fairly light for aluminum poles. I have only been able to collapse the poles once and that was falling pretty hard. It did break my fall and although it did compress, it was slow enough to help me not go down too hard. The grip is comfy, but does get sweaty, cork may absorb that a bit better. I wish the screws were hand tighten-able, instead I would need to have s screwdriver hand if the screws come lose. I will just check the tightness before each use.
I'm a 5'3"woman of size and age. My trainer suggested trekking poles instead of my cane to help me walk upright rather than bending over. My back and knees are so much better using the poles. i use the LEKI Rubber Fitness Walking Tip which I duct taped on since I'm using them indoors as well as outside. I'll be able to quickly remove the tips should i need to and easily replace them. Hoping to be able to go out more often now that I'll be able to walk with less pain
Have toyed with the idea of getting some poles for a while. My back hurts so when I walk and I start to lean forward. has really stopped me walking. Well finally bit the bullet and purchased them, Why oh why did I not do it before. Had twowalks since they arrived, first one a short one to try them out and this morning 3 miles. No backache, wonderful, so glad I bought them and trying for 5 miles next time. Yipee
Overall I very happy with these. Done a few treks and hillwalks with them and these are sturdy and robust enough .
What s great set of walking poles. The catches are easy to operate with gloves on and hold firm when locked. The handle grip is very comfortable for Long distance walking. These poles are also nice and light and close up easily when walking and not required. The tension on the clamps can be adjusted with a screwdriver which I think is far better than the plastic knob type which can slacken when released. Well worth the money for a decent set of poles.
I am an avid hiker and mountain climber. I spent quite a bit of time researching which trekking poles to buy and settled on these after reading reviews and comparing options. These poles are beautiful! A stunning blue colour, really high quality, light and very easily adjustable. Can't wait to use them!!
Bought these as an upgrade to what we had before. Very conformable to us and look great.
Had these over 12 months now and still as good as when they were first purchased.
Bought these for my wife who has used them while we have been holidaying in Keswick. She is very happy with them saying they are very light and easy to adjust, and seem good value for the money.
I have used the poles a number of times very light & easy to use.
Brought as a Christmas present. Wife very pleased with them.
I’m 5 ft 4 so there wasn’t much extra extension left for me on these poles, so not ideal for taller folk
Really good light weight poles, easy to extend. Would definitely recommend.
They're very comfortable to use, strong and look pretty.
Worked really well. They did bend on my first use but have been replaced and work brilliantly. Must have got a faulty one to begin with but have been great since I got new ones.
Gift - she loves them and says they make her walk faster and getter better work out; Also very helpful on uneven terrians
A quality pair of walking poles at a good price. Really pleased with them.
