I first bought two pair of these socks in 2011 when I started hiking to lose weight. At first I was miserable due to blisters, but, after getting these socks - NO MORE BLISTERS! I worked my hiking up to 4 to 7 times a week for 4-7 hours at a time. With these socks, every step was a pleasure!

I bought two more pairs in 2012, even though the original socks were still fine. Now, in 2017, I purchased two more pairs. But not because the other ones were worn out, but to keep in my emergency bug-out bag. Hopefully I'll never need to use them, but if I do, my feet will be one thing less to worry about in an emergency.

These things wear like iron! I not only wear them nearly every day, but also take my shoes off at the door and wear them around the house in place of slippers. The original four pairs are still going strong! So they are definitely worth the expense.

First Pair and I can tell I'm hooked :) I love these socks - fit perfectly - warm my feet up but not too hot - I love these!!!! - Just another addon to my previous post (first statement). Some time has passed and no long am I just hooked I"m in love with this brand and will probably never go back again! These are great for anyone who loves thick socks, form fitting and just the perfect amounts of elasticity, not too tight and never too lose! I love the added arch support and it is so helpful for anyone whose feet just need some extra tlc because they hurt or you stand on them all day et al - it's a superb match. I wouldn't suggest these with reg shoes without much room for extra padding from the socks as it's a very thick sock and will indeed take away shoe space. Tennis shoes are iffy for some probably esp if you wear a tight fitting pair however if you allow some room to give way to the sock you will be fine. Boots are a fine match esp hiking or biking boots. These wear well and haven't fallen apart or gave way to my constant wearing of them and I'm now a repeat customer and will always be such. You will love these if you wear/love thick socks! Dreamy indeed!

I positively LOVE Thorlos. I bought my original hiking Thorlos in the mid-1990s when I worked as an EMT to wear with my boots. I had about 8 or so pairs, most of which I still have today, although some of the heels have worn through. They are high quality, comfty, not too hot and when I recently needed better socks to wear with Achilles tendon injury, these were what I choose.

They do get a bit fuzzy right away, but I anticipate they will last for many years to come.

In my experience, sizes differ among Thorlo styles, so always check what the size range is for the style you're buying. For other Thorlo styles, I've purchased XL. However, I have a flat wide foot size 10 to 10.5 (41 Euro) and the large in THIS style fits great.

My original purchase of Thorlo socks was about 8 years ago I bought 8 pair at a sporting goods storeI loved them and wore them continuously for 8 years..finally wore the heels thru so I bought 3 pairs of these,
I have used them hiking one trip. Seams are good and material is good. But, after one washing and line drying I am very dissapointed. The inside of the sock top is unraveling. It looks like it is elastic threads and they are pulling out. Even though the quality is good this is a failure and if they begin sliding down I fear they will end up being tossed. Too expensive for this problem.

I was a little apprehensive about which size to get, but on the package, it said the medium should be for 7-9 shoe size. I actually wear 9.5, but very glad I opted for this size - they aren't too tight or short - larger size would be too big. And VERY cushy and warm. Ankles are also just the right amount of elastic - I have kind of large ankles, but these are neither too tight nor too loose.

I bought these for my wife when I saw her darning her old Thorlos (I didn’t know anyone still darned socks). However, I only ordered one pair because things change, and I wanted to make sure these socks were of the very same good quality as her worn-out socks. They are, and I’m ordering five more pair tonight because she’s washed these new ones every night so that she can wear them every day. Comfortable, soft, good-looking, and will last for years. Yes, they’re a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. And you’re on your feet a LOT. I am a serious hiker (AT, the Rockies, etc) and I wear Thorlos. My wife doesn’t hike, but she wants comfortable, quality cushioned socks. I seldom give five stars, but these socks earn every single one of them.

These are very comfortable socks - both for hiking and just for walks with the dog, doing yard work, or hanging around the house.

These socks fit well, and stay up - no stretching out excessively or sliding down in my boots, even after a year of wear and many washings.

The padding in the socks makes them comfortable and helps to reduce tired feet and blisters, but it's not so thick that it makes my shoes tight or bunches up. I've had some other types of Thorlo socks that have so much padding in the toe area that they've been too fat for my shoes, or the padding has squished up at the sides of my toes and caused uncomfortable rubbing, but that hasn't been a problem with this pair. The toe seams are also comfortable.

The reason I'm giving these 4 stars instead of 5 is that the fabric of the thicker heels and toes quickly began to develop pulls. It didn't create any holes - just loops of thread sticking out here and there. I've used a sweater snag tool to pull some of the longer of these pulls back through the socks a few times, to prevent my toes from getting stuck in them (if they were on the inside) or tripping over them and creating worse snags in the sock (when they were on the outside). The socks are still perfectly usable and comfortable - it's just that this has been an ongoing minor mending issue, which is kind of a pain. I think I will try another type when it's time to order more hiking socks.

I was looking for some thicker, cushioned and absorbent walking socks for winter. These socks fit the bill. I love how soft they are inside, the constuction being looped like cotton sports socks, but with excellent wicking properties, because they are not cotton. Not had any issue wearing regards blisters, when wearing as the only pair i.e no liner socks.
Wash very well on a gentle wash I do weekly with my fleeces and walking trousers, and they dry quickly. I would like to try more Thorlos socks after having these.

My favourite socks EVER. I will continue to buy these as long as they make then.

    Thank you.

These are labeled as for men/women in description so I thought they were unisex. I bought these for my husband but these are labeled as and definitely are women’s size L socks. They are too small for him and otherwise seem to be great quality and soft.
